I pray to the Dark Gods that my Enemy leaves them behind.
Melta Armed Troops
OK, when Im writing an army list I always look at how Im going to open up the enemies vehicles and MCs, as an Iron Warrior, and Lord Hazard of these forums you would expect so.
Im have of for a while been using three AT config preds for my armour busting requirements but have added a sprinkling of meltaguns to the list also to strengthen my fisting squads versitility.
What do you use to bust armour and monsterous creatures and why do you think it is effective?
I will add further poll options as they arise, please type these in bold in your post.
For my 1750p list i field 3 obliterators a laserpredator and a havoc squad with 3 meltaguns. As well as having a few powerfists and combimeltas. In my opinion you should always max out on anti-tank weapons. There are simply a lot of mechanised lists out there
I'm so not sold on obliterators. Chosen for me please.
i acctualy use, a dp, greater daemon and 2 defiler , and a 2x dccw dreadnaught.
Where's the option where you pack 3 Rhinos with Meltagun Troops? Cause that's my vote. Beyond that, go Vindicators.
defiler with ccw and reaper
2 dreads with ccw and one of them has a multimelta
chosen with meltas
havocs with autocannons and ml's
combimelta on a rhino..
defiler with reaper is nice if (when) he gets the cannon blown off and is too far away to cc transports to death.
dreads work nice.. mostly.. they make pretty craters and always entertain
rhinomelta is a nice surprise to spring once in a while
"guess what, my rhino just melted your landraider, muhahahaha"
bikes and termies do their job then die like fish.
i always take the defiler and at least one dread, the rest gets swapped around.

That's very close to the list that got second at a pretty big tourney here. I don't know why people can't beat it, it's not exactly a surprise list or containing unbeatable tricks. Yet it continues to do very well. Hmmmm.

And now to erase your memory of this entire conversation.
