Where to start...
You're using 3 hq choices, which is illegal.
Your chaos lords in terminator armor look like they're walking alone.
you're using a plasma cannon dread, which is an even worse idea than usual.
To start, drop one of the chaos lords in termie armor, and one of the terminators. Put the other terminator lord in the land raider with the 4 terminators.
Change the dread to a missile launcher.
If Kharn is walking, drop a berserker and put kharn with them.
How Did This Get Here I Am Not Good With Computer
Well ,TA, one thing that would help us with giving some pointers is what problems specifically you are having with Tau.
If you could give us some of the pain points you are having we could tailor our advice for tactics or strategy that works with your playstyle and that of your Tau opponents.
Oni has very good points on the make up of your list. With additional info from you we could further pick at your list to see what might need optimizing or reworking, as well as compare that against the Tau lists you usually face.
I have played Tau since they were released, and Deathgaurd list for several years now. So I just might be able to give a pointer or two with some more info from you.
Repeat after me: Khorne Daemon weapon is bad. There's only a 69% chance you'll even get to attack with it. The rest of the time your lord is useless AND gets hurt.
Hey there, tyranids appear.
This thread should probably go into the army-list section, seeing as how you're essentially asking for advice on a list. However, if you're generally inquiring on how to beat Tau, then it's fine where it is.
Also, make sure you abide by the forum rules concerning grammar. Capitalize your sentences, and no chat speak.

Spambot kill tally. . .337
I play tau but am now moving into CSM and i just want to say there is two weak links in a tau army no actually one
The Suits and this is pretty obvious but some people dot get it but if you have any deep striking units or outflanking or scout units use them to catch those damn crisis before they lol at you then hop away.
Any lascannons you have focus them on broadsides because they die easily vs lascannons and they are one of the most effective vehicle poppers in the game.
So take out the suits then all they have left is firewarriors and maybe a hammerhead (go for that next)
I know you may find the Tyranids physically repellent to look at but believe me, you don't want to let them out of your sight.
Plague marines are great at withstanding much of the Tau firepower. Kill anything with a plasma rifle as soon as you can.
I would suggest ditching berserkers. Against Tau you should win any combat you get into so there is no point in paying the premium for berserkers. Regular CSMs do it just as well and get more bodies and special weapons thrown in.
Land raiders die to railguns so witch that. The rhino rush with oblits and terminators teleporting from icons with a few vindicators or AC/2LC preds in support.
The HQ should be a daemon prince with wings and a defensive mark like MoN or MoT. Lash prince has its uses of course dragging fire warriors or even battle suits into shooting or assault range.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I agree with Mad Cat.
Regular CSM are more then enough to take out Tau of any kind. I've had matches (when I played Tau) where 2 regular CSM would get into a squad of Fire Warriors and that would be the end of the Fire Warriors!
So, save your points by getting some CSM instead of Berserkers , and use the extra points somewhere else. You'll have to get rid of one of your HQ's as well.
A more cost effective HQ would be a Daemon Prince with MoTz. I've been able to withstand a lot of the Tau's low AP shots with it.
"So, how did you become a Renegade Space Marine?"
"..... Tax evasion...."
I love Daemon Princes as my HQ vs Tau (against anyone for that matter!), so get two, one with Lash, the other with Tzeetch and Doombolt.
Next, do two to three squads of two Obliterators each, making his anti tank Railguns kind of fall flat due to the lack of big armored Heavy support for it to shoot at.
Lastly, fill out your list with regular 10 man CSM squads tooled out with two of the same special weapons in Rhinos.
I think your main advantage in the battle will be the lack of an effective Codex:Tau. Pretty much your units are better AND more efficent. Good luck!!!
"Men attract not what they want but instead what they are."
Brymm, while your advice is great, what would you use a railgun on if the only other thing to shoot at is rhinos? The reason you use armor is to make your opponent ignore the rhinos, so our real weapon, our troops, can get close enough to destroy his army
If you leave nothing for them to shoot at they will shoot the rhinos, making our troops have to walk all the way, giving his gunline ample opportunity to do its job. we need dreads, defilers, vindicators, and predators to make an opponent think the rhinos are not the true threat; instead of removing all other things so they can concentrate on our rhinos
