I'm thinking of converting a chaos lord of Tzeench on a bike with a Hellscreamer daemon weapon. However the fact that it can be used in both the shooting phase and the assault phase means I have two opportunities for my Chaos Lord to loose wounds each turn. What is your opinion of this weapon?
You answered your own question.
That said, if you have a great idea for a conversion that will make an awesome model, go for it! You never need an excuse to make a cool miniature! Use him for beer 'n pretzel games. Have fun. Enjoy it. Make jokes about change when he stabs himself.
Okay I will certainly be making this model. I have a really cool conversion idea to split the weapon into two parts so that I have a daemonic cannon mounted on the front of the bike and have the chaos lord holding a suitably menacing blade of hacky slashy killy changey death.
That is one of the colest way toe re-present a tezeench DW. my own chaos lord has the same, just that he is in termi armour and not on a bike, i can post pic of him if you want.
Please do. Looking for suggestions as to a suitable weapon to mount on the front.
The Tzzentchan daemon weapon comes with the improved inv. save, so I wouldn't worry much about losing wounds. Consider also that the Lord is likely to be powerfisted before his DW can drain him.

My lord getting powerfisted before the weapon kills him fills me with confidence. Still its not going to stop me from converting the model. lol
The potential for losing wounds due really isn't as bad as people think. Most rounds, your Lord is either shooting with the daemon weapon or wielding it in close combat. In fact, only the round(s) he charges should you have an increased chance of rolling a one.
