It's a topic of conversation that came up on another forum online. The complained (probably rightly so) that my custom Keeper of Secrets didn't look 'Slaaneshy' because it was mostly made out of Carnifex parts.
However, this raised the question, what should a large monstrous creature of Slaanesh look like? Aside from looking feminine (like the Daemonettes and Seekers) what else do you equate with Slaanesh?
Personally, I don't like the appearance of the Keeper of Secrets at all. It looks like a large goat man with lobster claws wearing a loincloth. That's not what I had in mind. I understand that goats and bulls have strong influences in ancient pagan religions, but when I think 'depraved' I don't think random horns and lobster claws. It's the same reason I don't like the fiend models either.
Chaos Spawn work for fiends, but what about the Keeper, or a customized Daemon Prince? What would you make a daemon of depravity and decadence look like (ridiculously oversized breasts and genitalia aside please ^_^)?

Slaanesh is associated with cattle and clawed crustaceans - his/her creatures tend to be lithe and sinuous - if possible androgynous, the Lord of Pleasure is evocative, he is lustful while modern connotations of this are associated with sex that is not the case. Slaanesh is a god of excess - long, slender limbs, perhaps multi-jointed for a more eery look, superfluous tails and features, perhaps a milld paunch from excesses in the nights before battle indulging in intoxicants and feasts, long, broad tail that sways hypnotically and rhythmically as it bounds along the ground only to lash around and whip mortals as they are distracted by the movement.
The sentient races are all humanoid - as a result a humanoid daemon yields more empathy within a mortal thus drawing them in more effectively than something evidently monstrous and alien - perhaps they have a glamour hiding their natures, much like the daemonettes, or perhaps the creature genuinely has a more humane countenance. It differs from each daemon, and perhaps, from their particular indulgence encompassed by Slaanesh that they immortalise in daemonic flesh.

Well, it's Chaos, so it can look however you like so long as it is roughly the same size.
Slaanesh isn't just the good of furries and David Bowie lookalikes, Slaanesh encourages depravity in all forms. Who's to say a giant crab monster doesn't turn some folks on? A big mean crab monster than hangs out on the beach of Slaanesh's circle of sloth. How about a regular diner at the circle of Excess, the big feasty table?

In my mind each of the Chaos gods has a correlation to the 7 deadly sins. I tend to see Slannesh as representing Lust and Envy, Nurgle has Gluttony and Sloth, Khorne is obviously Wrath and Pride, and Tzeench as Greed in the form of a thirst for knowledge.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams
Have you seen Pan's Labryinth? I've always thought of the 'eye hand' monster as a good monster of Slaanesh, except grotesquely large and obese to show the monster's greed for excessive food and drink. I would see a giant, bloated pale monster (like an unclean one, except....clean?) covered in piercings and saliva as it looks on for enemies to eat, satifying it's hunger.
Slaanesh doesn't always have to be pretty!
Signature? What, do I sign my name here or something?

i agree with the KoS being an ugly model. i also think a Carnifex would be a fine model for KoS. it has the rest of the crustacean body to go with the KoS's lobster arms. Its also proper size. Anyone who gives you a hard time is an asshat.
I enjoy Forge World's Keeper of Secrets model - the lines look more fluid and seductive, while maintaining the menace and sense of danger.
