I run an Epidemius list, but jammed with plaguebearers not nurglings. However every Epi list I see has them, and I don't see why. Why are they so good? Sure the tally makes them great, but the tally does that to everything. They don't have FNP, and have a horrible toughness while costing almost as much as a plaguebearer. What is their role?
Signature? What, do I sign my name here or something?
They've got three wounds, and they're a swam unit.
The benifit the most from tally while being just (if not more) durable then PBs by having Triple wounds
The only reason people don't take them in every list is because they aren't scoring
And they look awesome!
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
5 plaguebearers = 5 attacks when charged, 5 wounds, and 75 points
5 nurglings = 15 attacks when charged, 15 wounds, and 65 points
Yes, plaguebearers are stronger, tougher, and have feel no pain, but nurglings have 3 times the number of attacks and wounds, they aren't slow and purposeful, have a 3+ cover save, and all for cheaper. As others have said, the only reason you don't see them more often than plaguebearers is because they can't claim objectives.
