    Boon of mutation

Do you need to do a psychic test to use the boon of mutation, or is it just a regular shooting attack. Assume that it is a Tzerald on a chariot that is doing this.

Daemons don't have psychic powers, they just have abilities. While psykers use their minds to channel the warp, daemons ARE the warp.

As a result, their powers don't count as psychic, so abilities that ignore or resist psychic powers don't affect chaos daemons. However, this only pertains to the Chaos Daemons army, not Chaos Marine daemons, even though they're often very similar.

Boon of mutation isn't a psychic power or a shooting attack. It's just an ability that 'happens'. As a result, there's virtually no way to avoid it, besides the normal roll within the rule.

Boon actually is a shooting attack. An important factor considering the limit of shots capable of firing

It is? Huh. I'll have to check the codex. Sorry about that.

Well the odds are a bit lower, as you have to roll to hit first. But I get what you are saying, just being thorough.
