Well I had a question for other chaos daemons players out there. I am really not that impressed with the metal fiends models. Are the any (preferably plastic) models that people use instead of the metal fiends?
Also, if there are other models, what size base are fiends on? It looks like a terminator sized base but I can't be sure.
"I am the architect of fate!"
fiends are on 40mm bases
I been converting them by putting Demonette torsos on spiders from the O&G Spider Riders
I have seen daemonetter centaurs them made from the horses from the chaos marauder horsemen too.

Whilst I think the spider-daemonettes look better (certainly more slaaneshy) than the marauder horse-daemonettes, the horse-daemonettes may out work better as far as game mechanics are concerned since they would end up being nearer in size to real fiends.
I've made three full units of daemonette/spiders on 40mm round bases, and whilst they look really good, they are a lot smaller than real fiends. No one has complained, but it does change line-of-sight to them. Since reduced line-of-sight can only help me, I'd keep a proper fiend handy to swap in for line-of-sight purposes, or at least always give the opponent the benefit-of-doubt if it every becomes an issue. Still 18 plastic spider-daemons & 1 metal fiend is a third of the price of 18 metal fiends.
What I ended up using for this was a half-deamonette half-ravener model. The snake tail thing and a couple extra talons/arms and a bit of green stuff around the waist and they look like they belong to any god slaneeshy army. Same base size as fiends and fairly close to the same height, without looking hideous.
I admit it did take a some crafty use of green stuff around the waist since the ravaner is a lot wider then the deamonette's waist, but it is very doable and totally worth it.
I know it's too late but haven't seen the post before now, but if you consider doing more then look how i made mine:
It's a thread just on page two of the demon forum. I've used elven steeds as i write which i think works quite well since i they're pretty smooth/sleek/slaaneshi in my opinion at least... and i've made 10 fiends at the cost of 33 £, pretty ace, at least if you like the horse bodies
Personally, I think daemonette centaurs make better seekers of slaanesh than fiends. For fiends, I just use chaos spawn with a few extra random slaaneshi bits.
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
That's a great use for chaos spawn! My brother bought me some, but at the time, I wasn't playing CSM and now that i am playing CSM, I find the Spawn is pretty over priced and under achieving. I've never liked to buy Fiends because they are so expensive, but I've always wanted to use Fiends in combat. Proxy Spawn to Fiends, here I come!
@ mynameisgraix: why not just use the seeker models, old or new? both sets are nice... ( i know the old sell for a horrible price on ebay)
