Ok so I'm 24 I haven't thought about warhammer 40 k since I was 15 after turning to drugs drink women clubbing and poker! I've had a lott of nostalgic thoughts recently of my child hood, went and bought a sega mega drive with all the cool games I used to play and the next thing to target from my child hood is warhammer! As a kid I had pretty much the whole chaos army from fabis bile to from dreadnoughts to the bloodthirster trouble was,as a kid we used to paint them all up in ten seconds flat so all the figures would look like walking blobs of paint! Now I have kids a house good job and plenty of time on my hands to do things properly I thought id slowly build a new army.
I've decided to go for building a squad of terminators with abbadon as a leader and perhaps another squad with just a chaos lord as a leader firs then two land raiders as transport after. What I want to do also is convert each figure so none of them are the standard default figure u get from the box. So what I need to know is what is allowed? Is there certain regulations that say terminators are only allowed to carry a long range wepon in 1hand and a close range 1 in the other? Are you allowed to have abbadon and a chaos lord as a leader of each squad? And most importantly where can I get a list of themes to paint them all? I know about khorne nergle fallen dark angels etc but I'm sure there is several more so wat do u veterains say? give me sum ideas!
I say get the Codex.
Will the codex explain every single rule for chaos and every different legion?
Most, if not all.
But the Codex is always the first and most important step, along with the rulebook of course, when building an army.
