I've read the Obliterator section very carefully and I have a technical discussion to open about one point; can Obliterators make a sweeping advance? Now I know almost everyone who just read the question said "of course not they are in terminator armor" and on the surface, I would agree with you. But lets be technical about this for one second: a) The Obliterator's entry mentions nothing about them being in Terminator armor; not in their entry or in the fluff. b) Their armor is now a mix of flesh, armor, warp energy and arcane energy, so even if it used to be terminator armor, it isn't now. It is much more even if it retains a terminator armor statistic. I'm really not advocating if the can or cannot make sweeping advances, but technically it is a gray area in my books which could go either way and I'd love to hear some open minded opinions on this.
i do not see why they can not make a sweeping advance, but i would not put them in a list to be assault troops
I've wondered similarly, and drew the conclusion that they are not in terminator armour, so can sweeping advance. However, I do not seek combat with them, a squad has 9 attacks on the charge, maximum. That said, a couple of power fist attacks can help to sway a combat when another unit is committed/committing in the same turn, or clear the last few of a squad from an objective.
I bought some Oblits off Ebay and I haven't got them yet, so my question was spawned from me evaluating them ahead of time. I guess that they aren't a unit you really want in cc, but I imagine it may happen from time to time even if you really didn't want to in the first place. Too bad they can't morph their arms into a power weapon since they can morph them into so many ranged weapons.

Obliterators cannot make a sweeping advance. They have the Slow and Purposeful rule, meaning they suck at hacking down those guardsmen they beat in combat... Because that's about all they can beat.
