It might just be me but it seems as though the obliterators have been kicked hard in the nuts, dropped to the ground crying then booted once more for good measure. I am of coarse refering to their 4(5) toughness modification which means they can be takin out with a single shot from a lascannon, missile launcher, etc. At first it wasn't so much of a deal and didnt really mind it. But now with the 4th ed rules you can shoot at them through squads. You gotta be kidding me. At 70 points each, has anyone found a use for these so called 'obliterators'?
Try and use the search function, the obliterator issue has been discussed more than once
I did a search, found this thread...
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ad.php?t=19022 (Quick Question About Obliterators)
Which was closed, so I couldn't post on it...
And then clicked on the thread at the back to check the final be-all/end all ruling...
Which tells you that that page can't be found. Heh.
So. Anyone have the right link?

While Lascannons are still a concern, Missile Launchers are not. It takes on average six missile Launcher hits to take down a single Obliterator. That's not bad.Originally Posted by Chaotic one
It's not that Oblits are bad now, it's that people have forgotten how to play them correctly. When they had the high toughness, people would just stand them around and mow down any enemies in their path. You just can't do that anymore. You have to be judicious in your deployment, and learn to block lines of fire. Deep Strike helps too.
Oblits are still one of the best units Chaos has the option to take. No matter what type of weaponry you're in need of, they can help. They're anti-tank, anti-horde, and anti-Heavy Infantry all rolled into one. Just learn to play with them correctly. There's no need for those FAQs anymore. Most of the people have up to date Codices now, so there's no conflict.Originally Posted by Grey
