Does anyone else hope that we get more choice of daemon weapons in the next codex? I know it's gonna be 2-4 years away but I seriously want a change because a game I had on friday my chaos lord actually killed himself with his khorne daemon weapon, what annoyed me most is not that he killed himself, it's that I rolled the exact same dice, 5 and a 1 for attacks then a 1 for my invunerable save 3 times in a row, how unlucky can someone get? anyway. if anyone has any thought for some new upgrades or daemon weapon abilities for our chaos lord please feel free to discuss, personally I'd like to see the return of spiky bits from our old codex so we can at least have a chance of not killing our lords apart from inv saves.
i will say that i don't mess with demon weapon toting lords due to their unreliability.
Five daemon weapons is quite a lot of choices, especially compared to the previous codex. Some of them actually aren't bad. Nurgle's, for example, as well as the Slaanesh's. Even Tzeentch's has decent utility.
Spambot kill tally. . .337
I noted that it was the Khornate Daemon weapon you had taken. The one reason I don't take that particular DW is because you roll two D6s instead of the normal single one, and with my darling little cuboids' propensity for rolling 1s I just don't take any chances!
Have to agree with Rabbit though: the Blissgiver is a real class act if you are fighting against a unit which has an IC in it. Assuming that you're in BtB with the IC *and* the unit, you can distribute your attacks between the two and it would therefore be a good possibility that you could take down the IC with a single wound (unless he's immune to I-D, of course) as well as a number of the unit.
I'm using my Emperor's Children against Blood Angels on Tuesday next, and my Chaos Biker Lord has a Blissgiver. Hopefully it'll work and my dice will grant me an unusually kind set of rolls!

I was playing an Imperial Fist successor chapter with 20 terminators in it lead by Lysander so the bliss giver is pretty pointless since he's an eternal warrior >.<. I just thought i'd be able to make his terminators take so many invunerable saves that they'd all just die under weight of attacks and take a couple of wounds off lysander with my oblits and finish him offwith a charge off with a daemon prince or bezerkers.
the very nature of the daemon weapon is its a gamble to use. In a friendly game, it makes it more fun. I know in my friendlies, if I tell my friend I have a Khorne lord with a daemon weapon on the table, he makes it a point to target him. If I get him in assault... the times I roll 8 extra attacks make it all the more fun. its high risk high reward at it's best.
When it works, its one of the best power weapons going but theres still that 1/6 chance that he hits himself, if we could have something like a relic blade or just some more choices it would be nice, especially on the daemon prince
if only they wouldn't make the lord do 0 attacks when a 1 is rolled they would be nice!
win some, lose some
I'd lobby that Daemonic weapons never fail to be used, but rather either needs to be "fed" by wounds (your opponent's first then yours if it didn't feed well enough) or you just take a wound no saves possible. Right now, Khorne Daemonic weapons are almost unusable in all but really friendly games. Like the author of the post, the last time I used the Bloodfeeder, it never hit and killed my Lord without taking a wound from my opponent. I also never hit my opponent. 190 points directly down the tubes.
forthebloodgod came up with some good dp weapon ideas, and andrewbeater went into more detail on the feeding rules in my thread (what would you most like changed).
Personally I would'nt change them much other than always attacking, maybe nurgle could be 3+ but I'm not sure, as you do get re-rolls against most troops.
