Hey guys. Some of the people in my gaming circle are planning on doing an escalation league over the summer, including one of my buddies who's going to pick up the new GKs (they were the army that got him into 40k, so he's really excited about the new release). Anyway, in order to celebrate the new GK dex and because of my love of the Blood God, I'm toying with the idea of starting up an all-Khornate daemons army. I know that it's not going to be very competitive or effective, but I think it'll be a blast to play, and it will make every victory that much sweeter.
Anyway, I've been talking about this with my friend and discussing how I think that the current Bloodthirster model is one of the ugliest in all of 40k, and how I can't afford the fantastic-looking FW thirster. He suggested that I but a Dreadknight and chaos-ify it and stick a bloodletter in the pilot's seat. At first I didn't like the idea but the more I think about it the more I like it. I think I'm going to be doing this for my thirster.
However, this got me thinking. A random dreadknight in an otherwise conventional daemons army would stand out a bit (though that's not necessarily a bad thing). Following this train of thought gave me the idea of collecting an army of tech-daemons. I think that this could be really cool, but I can't really think of places to get the bits for it aside from the Necron range, and I don't want them to just turn into half-cron daemons. So, here I am. Do any of you have advice for where I could find bits to make this work? Mind that this is just an idea I'm playing with and I have no idea whether it will pan out or not.
Nothing stopping you from doing it
Or you could just use a Balrog as a BT
You can use the Balrog's as Bloodthirsters? I thought there was some rule you couldn't use LOTR property in Warhammer games, had to do with property rights or something like that.
Sorry, I should have been more clear in what I was asking. I wasn't asking whether I could use the dreadknight, but rather if anyone knew of any good bits I could possibly use for making tech-daemons.
CSM or Tau I guess.
