well Ive been looking through the codex and wondering about how to use rhinos after 4rth ed nurfed them. If you cant go CC with them how would a shooty rhino go? Well I tried to tool up a rhino to be a shooty troop choice. we go with 5 marines with tank hunter, a rocket launcher and MoCU. give them a rhino with a havok launcher, mutated hull and parasitic posession. it seems this would be a fairly durable unit but Im a bit worried about the cost of this squad compared with the offensive ability. they can take out tanks pretty easily and will do decent damage to horde armies but will the damage be enough for high armor units? The cost for this squad at first seems high but considering its a troops choice it doesnt seem to bad to me on further inspection. Has any one used this squad before? how did it fare? was it too overpowering? Id like to know before I buy a bunch of rhinos.
fairly durable but still fragile small and for its effectiveness, expensive, maybe you might want to consider a 10 man squad with two special weapons in a rhino (pop open the top hatch and go genestealer roasting or two plasma guns and go space marine killing). Keep in mind they made the rules so rhinos could simply be a means to get form point a to point b. Rhinos are a great unit, but they are best utilized when done so to the maximum extent of troop carrying capability. Hell maybe a 10 man havoc squad with tank hunter and plasma guns.
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
