    Need help with Chaos

Ok, so as the title suggests I need help. On Saturday I am planning on entering my first tournement of 2000 points, and I am going to use Chaos. I am expecting to be fighting against Blood Angels, Daemons, CSM, CSM, CSM, Space Marines, and Tau.We are not allowed to proxy anything, obviously but I think that I needed to say that, so I will give a list of all the chaos Space Marines that I have.

    HQ
    Abbadon
    Terminator Sorcerer
    Winged Sorcerer
    Daemon Prince
Chaos Lord: jump pack, pair of lightning claws

    Elites
Terminators: 5 terminators, reaper autocannon, icon of tzeentch
Terminators: 4 terminators, 4 pairs of lightning claws
Chosen: 5 chosen, 3 w/ flamers, 2w/ meltas (doulbe as basic troops)

    Troops
5 champions: 3 w/ plasma pistols and power weapons, 2 with powerfists
    15 normal CSM4 w/ meltas (2 of them double as chosen)3 w/ flamers ( double as chosen)1 w/ icon of tzeentch1 w/ icon of nurgle1 w/ icon of slaanesh2 w/ plasma guns3 w/ heavy bolters
Khorne Berzerkers: champion w/ plasma pistol and powerweapon, 7 bzerkers
Thousand Sons: sorcerer, 8 thousand sons

    Fast Attack
Raptors: 3 champions: 1 w/ pair of lightning claws, 2 w/ power weapons
    12 normal raptors

    Heavy support
    Chaos Land Raider
    defiler: cca, reaper autocannon

    Dedicated transport:2 rhinos

So if any of you have any suggestions please tell me. Thanks in advance.

first bit of help: rewrite your opening. do not list your army in a paragraph. list it vertically in a column so that readers will want to read it.

Paragraph breaks are your friend. It's very difficult to figure out what you have with a single massive block of text like that. Try splitting that block up so each of your units is on your own line, it'll be far easier to help you put something together.

your army suffers from a decided lack of armor. all you have is a raider, defiler, and two rhinos. a defiler will get smoked at 2000 points. you need to supply more good targets to make your opponent spread his fire.

honestly i wouldn't enter a tournament. you don't have enough troops. at 2000 points you should run 4 units. your raptors are not any good at all. if you had melta guns on them then you could DS them. you need a strong anti armor presence to be in a tournament, and you just don't have it.

Yes, your army is not nearly mobile enough for your troops. Thousand Sons are too slow to footslog, Berzerkers without transport will be whittled down into ineffectiveness by shooting if they footslog, and your melta CSMs will be playing catchup to get into effective range. The Raptors would only be effective if they were kept in one large group, and with the exception of Abbadon and the Prince, your HQs are only good at taking out infantry.

If you are set at entering this tournament, then try this:

Terminator sorcerer with Mark of Slaanesh and Lash of Submission
Daemon Prince with Wings and Mark of Nurgle and Warptime

4 Terminators with Mark of Tzeentch and Reaper Autocannon (Sorcerer goes here)
5 Chosen, with Mark of Tzeentch and 4 Meltaguns

7 Khorne Berzerkers, 1 Skull Champion with Plasma Pistol and Power Weapon (anyway to switch that to a powerfist?) with Rhino
8 Thousand Sons with Sorcerer, who has Warptime with Rhino
11 CSM with Mark of Nurgle and Heavy Bolter
    11 CSM with Heavy Bolter

    Land Raider with Daemonic Possession
    Defiler

That's 2 pts shy of 2000. Stick the Defiler in cover and use it's Battle Cannon to the fullest, don't move it up to get in CC. Infiltrate the Chosen and go after the biggest threats, and stick the Terminators in the Land Raider and move it up with the Rhinos. Shield your Daemon Prince with the Land Raider, and then try to drag enemy units into assault range and multi-assault them with the Berzerkers and Prince after you rapid-fire them with your Thousand Sons. Keep the Regular CSMs back as fire-support and objective holders.

Well, my most favorite chaos army list that I use is this.

Daemon Prince: wings, mark of tzeentch, warptime, wind of chaos
    Sorcerer: wings, mark of slaanesh

Terminators: champion, 3 terminators, 4 pairs of lightning claws, icon of slaanesh, land raider, extra armour
Terminators: champion, 4 terminators, icon of tzeentch, heavy flamer, chainfist

CSM: champion w/ powerfist, 9 marines, 2 meltaguns, rhino
CSM: champion w/ powerfist, 9 marines, 2 meltaguns, icon of chaos glory, rhino
Thousand Sons: sorcerer w/ doombolt, 6 thousand sons, rhino

    Raptors: 5 raptors, 2 meltaguns

    Defiler: cca, reaper autocannon

That is what I normally use becuase it is 8 points under 2000, unless I want to mix things up differently.

ok this page and the one either before or after are pictures of the army lists that i generally use. I dont know if any of these will work for the tournement though.

if you are going to slog your terminators then i suggest the reaper. good range and excellent transport buster. if you are going to deepstrike them then i suggest losing the MoT as they will most likely die to accumulated small arms fire.

you don't give any powers to your sorcerer? why not just use a lord then? it's cheaper and he's better in CC.

also i would swap the thousand sons for the bezerkers. TS are cool but they really don't serve well in an all comers list. bezerker, however, don't really care what they face. they just kill it.

The reason why i did not list any powers on my sorcerers in the begining here is because those could always change, but if you mean on thw two pictures they deffinately have powers and the other set of terminators with the flamer and icon of tzeentch always deepstrikes.
