I wonder if anyone of you have experience of fielding a Nurgle Sorceror on palanquin and if so how did he work for you?
I'll be fielding two HQs in my 1500 point army, the other is a winged nurgle prince, and though I assume the prince is more durable I find the palanquine to be rather characteristic. My sorcerer will be using the Gift of Chaos spell in order to take care of any powerfists, he'll also hide in a unit of Plaugemarines to avoid being shot to pieces.
Any advice will be appriciated.
He is very durable but slow, I mean no transport except for a Land Raider (which I don't think you will use). If your playstyle is ok with that, go on and test it.
I didn't really have any experience on the Palanquine mount, so I can't give you any further advice
He is pretty durable with the extra toughness and wound, and even more choppy with the extra attack. It is a bit of a waste though giving him Gift of Chaos as it has a very limited range and you will only change most models on a roll of a 5-6, but it is very characterful. I would only expect him to be able to get the power off once during the game, then you only have a 1/3 chance of it working.
Thanks for your responses
I am almost slightly ashamed, but I will be using a Landraider -despite the amount of points it eats up. The Sorcerer will be riding in it together with a unit of Deathguards one of tehm is a champ with fist and two of them use flamers.
Despite the limited range of the spell I am pretty sure to get to use it a few times once out of the Landraider as it can be used while in CC.
I used it quite a lot when I played with my ancient Thousand Sons-army and it is one of the things that really attracts me to chaos
