    Who got screwed?

Which cult troops got worse the most in the new codex? I personally think it was the 1000 sons, that 5+ strength to wound was dead handy in the old one. I think chaos have got better in general though (particularly obliterators & daemon packs   )

Actually World Eaters are screwed if their opponent is a little smart. They have to charge the closest thing, so a smart opponent puts empty rhinos and things like dreadnoughts at the front.

Does that apply to Khorne Bezerkers or World Eaters legion armies?

Both. But a BL army twith a Khorne them can still take Obliterators and Havocs to deal with that kind of threat, while World Eaters have to rely upon Predators (if they have em) or power fists.

i play world eaters and i havent found any problem witht he new rules. and the rule about charging the closest thing doesnt bother me anyway cause i used to that anyway. you troops are afterall safer in combat than in the open.

i think overall that chaos has got what it truly deserves and although there are a few draw backs its still all good.

Thousand Sons got screwed - that's why i like them. My opponent cannot call my army cheesy at all, and they're a challenge to play.
However, i think GW toned down the Bolt of Change a little too much. Originally it was basically an assault lascannon - now its range got halved and the strenght reduced, with the cost remaining the same. This really hurts the sons, since they're probably the least mobile army in the game. GW also didn't think about the rules for casualty removal - if a squad of sons suffers an odd number of wounds, then you have to remove the asp champ, because it's the only way to "remove whole models whereever possible" (BBB page 52). Only wiht a house rule, additional otherwise unnecessary upgrades or some rule lawyering concerning models in the same unit blocking LOS to the champ you can prevent this.

Hmm I've never even thought about this Astaroth. I doubt this is what's supposed to happen, I think the 'remove whole models' only counts for squads where everyone has multiple wounds, and that in this case you don't have to remove the sorceror. I'd try to get an official answer if I were you.

I have to agree that the Thousand sons got screwed.
I was thinking about starting an army of them, but then the new codex came out, and screwed the str. 5 weapons thing.
My interest for them dropped more when I didn't find anything about them having 2 wounds, I just recently noticed that they still have...
And the fact that they have come as their own models woke my interest for them once again...

About the remove as many as possible thing, I think it is up to the player and his opponent, heck doesn't seem strange that a champion out of LOS can be shot and killed?
Usually when I play with my Iron warriors I take casualties from the ones that were actually hit, noone has complained yet...
So I think BorninDarkness has the best point... Just agree with the opponent... unless he/she is a bi*** about winning...

Thousand sons can still rule. Especially if you throw in a dreadnought a defiler, and plenty of transports. Wait til you play 'nids, orks, or eldar and load up a rhino with a chosen squad with inferno bolts and rapid fire the crap out of their squads since you always count as stationary. Or for that matter, use winds of chaos and flying chosen. Even though basic thousand sons lost the str 5+ to wound, it really doesn't matter that much since marines usually fare pretty well against bolter/shuriken/slugga/lasgun fire, especially with 2 wounds each. And besides, lascannons removed them just as fast then as now. Just my 2 cents on what I think is going to be my next army.

That doesn't work, Chosen become Sorcerors so don't count as stationary, and to give them inferno bolts you need to upgrade em all to champions I think. You could give em Doombolt though ...
