I got a battleforce for christmas and a chaos lord, codex. I also converted a few space marines for a total of 19 chaos space marines. What should I invest my money in next, I play mainly against space marines and necrons.
Thank you for your time, and sorry because you get this all the time don't you?
Wow nice present
Here's a wish list:
- Daemon Prince (the big nasty one that everyone else fear)
- Chaos Havoc squad (buy your heavy weapons in blisters not the boxed set, unless you want to get the heavy bolter)
- Raptor Squad (the boxed set include all you need)
- Dreadnought (can't live without them)
- Predator or Defiler (or both if you have the money, the predator pack some good heavy fire but the defiler have indirect fire so you choose the one who's best for your playstyle.)
- Daemon Squads (choose a sort and get 2 squad of them, Furies are chaos undivided, they make a nice support CC squad for your CSM's and they count as fast attack. If you don't want furies take bloodletters they are pricey but they rock, they'll go rather well with your squad of berserkers.)
- 3 Obliterators
You have enougth Chaos Marines for a while, maybe you'll want to get a chaos conversion sprue and make some Possessed Marines, they are very worth it. Also maybe another bike to complement your squad of 3 and some terminators if you wish to use them, I rarely do those days as they don't shine in games less than 2000 pts. As for cult armies you already have Khorne Berserkers, they are good additions as Elite to any Chaos Undivided forces, put them in the Rhino and go scare some kids.
given the fact that you face an awfull lot of armies with 3+ savem the Defiler would seem as a decent choice.
This kind of question is really annoying because we get it a lot, and we can't always answer it. Think about your playstyle and you enemies. You have one already, but do you like to shoot and wear em down from afar, or do you like to dance bloodsoaked with the enemy in hand-to-hand combat. (Sorry if that seemed a little weird.) I would start out small, this allows for quick games and you can change what you want to buy without using ebay to get rid of stuff you hate. Try an escalation league, or start your own. Play aorund with some 500pt. battles. I would start wiht a Chaos LT, about two squads of at least 7 or 8 marines each, and depending on what you want to try, maybe some bikers daemons. Nothing says suprise better than Khorne Bloodletters materializing right in your path.
Daemon Prince: Big and scary. But I'd hold off if you already have a lord. Wait until your army grows to over 1000 points first.
Lt: Again, wait until you need one.
Chosen: Though terminators are strong, I don't like them for their price: both in the game and in the shop. I'd hold off until almost last if you wanted these guys.
Possessed: Really strong guys that are great for mowing through things like Space Marine HQs. And you can use them as funky looking marines if you didn't want possessed in your particular game.
Obliterators: I'd probably get a few of these before I got any tanks. They're so fantastically fun and strong. Great for a new player who may not know what special weapons to give his squad.
Daemons: They are quite expensive, so I'd probably figure out what type of army you want before you get any. Same for Nurglings.
Raptors: These are a very sound investment. Raptors are very powerful and a lot of fun to play with.
Bikers: These guys are similar to raptors, but I'd probably go with raptors because they're a bit cheaper.
Daemon Packs: Same as Daemons.
Havocs: A very solid choice for Heavy Weapons. These would be the first guys I'd go with. They're cheap and adaptable, which is great for new players.
Dreadnaughts: This is probably the first vehcle-type unit I'd grab. It's cheap in game terms, adaptable, and strong in CC and from afar.
Predator: Though I'd get Obliterators before this, the Predator is one of the soundest buys you can do. I think it's about the best tank in the game because it can be adapted to do almost anything.
Land Raider: Not worth it.
I forgot an item to my wish list... A greater Daemon!
Pick the one you like, I'd personnaly go with a great unclean one since I have a core of Plague Marines and the model is so nice. Maybe a Bloodthirster if you wish to go along with the Berserkers you already have, all you need is a champion that act as a Daemon vessel.
Great Lord, what's a 2000 pts Chaos army without a greater Daemon!!!
HQ: I wouldn't reccommend getting a Daemon Prince, as you already have a lord. You could add a Leuitanant, but not yet. Greater Daemons are nice, but in bigger battles.
Elites: Termies...well they look like badasses stat wise, but dont prove their points well. Possessed are really cool. They can do just about anything you need them too, and they make you get into modeling. Obliterators are great for their ability to change weapons in mid game (Take some!.
Troops: 19 isn't a lot of troops. I would get some more...either berzerkers or daemons (yes, berzerkers are troops, but they have the effect of troops). For daemons, Bloodletters give a powerful punch that could crush terminators. I wouldn't reccommend plauge beaerers. Daemonettes are good tank killers in a CC army, but you'll have plenty of heavy options...so I would say they're a no go. Flamers of Tzeentch are great shooters to stick behind your CC squads (I wouldn't reccommend horrors). Nurglings are cool 10 point models...dont get too happy with them though as they're harder to statigize with.
Fast Attack: Raptors are a great way to throw in a bunch of special weapons in a squad, and they are fast. Bikes are great for really fast armies, but I wouldn't reccommend it to a undivided army. Furies are cool, but not fantastic.
Heavy: Havocs have an assortment of jobs they can fullfill (they are really good! Take them!. Predators are cool, but IMO, nothing special. Dreadnoughts can rip stuff up (I would highly reccommend one!. Defilers are just lords...they are the perfect touch to any army (They're a must!. Land Raider...just stay away from them...they're useless.
I think that's a good view of the undivided chaos army.
My reccommendations (no order):
2) Possessed (talons!.
3) Defiler (inderect fire!.
4) Havocs (dont buy the box, buy blisters for you usually want a certain kind of weapon, not an assortment).
5) Obliterator or two.

Abaddon claims Horus to have been weak, that he had a chance to slay the Emperor, and failed. But he forgets who our founder is, who his father is! Horus began the havoc on the Imperium on which we continue. Tonight we shall spill the blood of the emperor on his golden throne for Horus! Because in the end, CHAOS WILL PREVAIL!
I have thought about this and I have decided to get some havocs they can take down vehicles high army saved enemy.
Thank you for your help
best is to equip the havoc sqaud with 2 AC and 2 ML and give them tankhunter skill.
I will bear that in mind. thank you
