Hi all!
Recently i just started playing warhamer 40k, im playing the chaos space marines as u all should know by now. I have already read the codexs and have the starter set but i dont know wat to do with it cuz i have been reading up alot on the codex and rules, and i still cant seem to understand. So my questions are.
1)Whats the difference between playing undivided or playing with one god?
2)If i play undivided will i be able to field units or characters from other gods?
3)i have one unit of khrone berserkers and one unit of chaos space marines from the box set. Will they be able to fight together?

Thanks all

1)Whats the difference between playing undivided or playing with one god?

- You really need to check the codex for this one, you'll have all your answers in the different Chaos power book. The main difference between the two is that an army dedicated to a particular god can only use certain troops and Daemon units dedicated to that particular god and that an army dedicated to Chaos Undivided can have troops and Daemon dedicated to all the gods (unless they are ancient ennemies). Black Legion is something different too as you don't need to follow the ancient ennemies rule and you can include everything in the army list in your army.

2)If i play undivided will i be able to field units or characters from other gods?

- Yes but be carefull to follow the ancient ennemies rule.

3)i have one unit of khrone berserkers and one unit of chaos space marines from the box set. Will they be able to fight together?

- Yes if you take a Lord who bear the mark of Chaos Undivided.

Ok thanks for the reply

Let me u give a scenario, i have a bunch of undivied space marines, i can any daemon lord from the other gods to control this batch of space marines, but the daemon lord that i choose must have the undivided mark of chaos? Am i rite to say that??
And on top of that i can use berserkers from the khrone army to fight for me as an elite unit or just normal berserkers??
Do this berserkers need to have any form of markings??
Under the book of chaos(undivided), there are different scenarios, for example, iron warriors, do i have to choose a chapter to play with??

Thanks

there a 9 traitor legions,

World Eaters, Death Guard, Thousand sons, Emperor's Children, Black Legion, Night Lords, Iron Warriors, Word Beares and the Alpha Legion.

each of these have their own special rules and those will only imply if you use that army.
since you play Black Legion, the basic undivided list , you are allowed to take cult troops, such a khorne, slaanesh , tzeentch and nurgle.

however, models form the other undivided legions can't be taken as you don't play that legion.

Yes, your lord can lead them even if he has a different mark, although giving him the mark of slaanesh will prohibit you from using the khorne bezerkers, more on this is in the codex.

with undivided the berzerkers are elties, with khorne they become troops, it al depends on which mark your lord has.

to make them bezerkers just give them the mark of Khorne.

Yes, berserkers are an elite choice if your lord have the chaos undivided mark. If you want to count them as troops your lord must have the mark of khorne.

To make berserkers you need to take a normal CSM squad and give them the mark of Khorne. When they have that mark they are entitled to follow the rules described in the book of Khorne.

Iron Warriors and the other chapters are all chaos undivided chapters that have special rules. You must follow their restriction as described to have their benefits and you must represent them by giving them the appropriate chapter colors and insignia. Black Legion is in the same situation. To answer your question: They are a chapter just like the Space Wolves are a Space Marine chapter.

I'm playing both chapters. First I went with the Iron Warriors because I have a love story with lascannon and then the and Death Guards play style appealed more to me so I'm building a 1500 pts force slowly. I'm at around 850 pts right now, when I'll get to 1000 pts I'll start using a pure Death Guards army.

Yes you'll find them both under the books of chaos.

Right now I'm using my Iron Warriors models to make a Chaos Undivided army with a mix of Plagues Marines. It work rather well I must say. I have 3 elite Death Guards squads and they are what cause my opponent the most pain most of the time. They are well supported by my Heavy Weapons and my Skirmisher squads and I get to use Furies as my fast attack choice and I really like them. If you don't want to play the same army with the same strategy over and over again, I think this is the way to go.

And no I don't use msn, just pm me in this forum if you want to ask questions in this forum, I'll be glad to answer.

U the man~!

Ok maybe u can help me by telling me wat i can do. Cuz i want to play iron warriors together with berserkers, see where i getting?? i want to use my iron warriors to shoot the dirt out of the opponents before i charge at them with my berserkers. :p

Are the iron warriors different from chaos space marines??do i just have to equipe my chaos space marines with the weapons of iron warriors?? Iron warriors uses lasercannons and stuff, i dont think my starter set has that.

So wat should i do with my starter set?? Should i just use them as normal chaos space marines?? Or should i convert all of them to chaos berserkers?? Or should i convert them to iron warriors?? Cuz if im not wrong i would have to buy the iron warriors expansion set rite??

Thanks man~!

Page 41 of the CSM codex will tell you everything you need to know about iron warriors (like how they cant take Berzerkers).

Youre asking us to tell you which army is better at 2 different things?

- You can't do that. If you want to mix Chaos Space Marines with Berserkers what you get is either a Chaos Undivide army, either an undedicated or a Black Legion army, not an Iron Warrior one. Read the codex.

- Iron Warriors are a Chaos Space Marine chapter. You make them Iron Warriors by painting Chaos Space Marines in their chapters colour. You take them as they are or you don't take them. Read Baratos advice, he's right, it's all in there, you must read it. It clearly says that all the Iron Warriors must have the Chaos Undivided Mark so no Berserkers (because they have the mark of Khorne).
- Iron Warriors are the shooting chapter of the Chaos Space Marines, the starter set don't include heavy weapons (except for 1 heavy bolter) so you'll have to buy those. If you take the Iron Warriors as your main troops then you will be able to take tanks, one more heavy weapon choice in your force organisation chart but you won't be able to take Daemons, etc., etc., etc., Read the codex for the rest.

- If you want to use everything you have in your starter set just start a Black Legion army. Its really good and you can customize it to your play style. The Black Legion is very powerfull so don't dismiss it right away. Include the Chaos Space Marines and the Berserkers in it and you'll have a start.

And last but not least. Read the codex.

If you want a polarised army which shoots and fights, my advice would be to play Black Legion or space marine renegades of some kind (not Iron Warriors or any of the specialist undivided legions, because they can't take any marks except undivided) and use noise marines and khorne berserkers together. Just remember you can't give your lord the mark of Khorne or Slannesh if you want to do this.
