I just want to know why Chaos are so good. I'm not making fun of them I just want to start and army and I want to know what makes them different from any of the other races. If you can tell me why and maybe some pointers (stratagies or small/big army list) that would be awsome. I posted the same about demon hunters, my two choices were chaos or DH so I would like to know so i can choose.
Common sense isn't common.
Chaos is good because you can adapt the army to your playstyle. It's good because of Daemons that can be summoned (just like if they are in reserve) where and when you need them. It's really good because the basic infantry, the chaos space marine, have power armour and use bolter as their basic weapons. It's one of the best choice around for its rich fluff and for the possibilities you have to create your own unique army.
Check around for ideas of army lists, read all the tactica and see what kind of play trigger your fancy. Chaos is a lot better than Daemon Hunters in my opinion because we have so much more choice troop wise and we are not as expensive. You can field really decent size chaos army if you wish to.
Once you choose the dark side you'll never go back toward the light... what army can give you the fun of summoning 10 furies onto a grey knight squad and see them vanish in a turn? What army gives you the possibility to field montruous and overpowered HQ characters? Check the Daemonic gift table and get an idea.
k well im sold. But one thing that I really like is you said that you can summon daemons. How can you do this... is there any requirements and where can you summon them?

You pay points for your daemons and they count as troop choices. There are 2 ways to summon them, have them in an icon that lets you deploy them on round 1 or the round of your choice. Or don't pay the points for the icon and wait until round 2 and start rolling for them to show up and be deployed like reserves or deep striking troops, with a steadily increasing chance for successfull deployment with every turn. Daemons can only be deployed near units with the same chaos mark as them.Originally posted by TITAN@Jan 25 2005, 236

Daemons are foot soldiers of hell that wait in the warp for a unit to summon them. The rules for summoning work exactly as the reserve special rule with the slight difference that a summoned Daemon unit can shoot, move and assault in the turn they appear on the table.
You must summon the Daemon squad near a chaos icon that is of the same mark as the unit you summon or near a chaos undivided icon. Every squad have the right to take a free chaos icon if they wish to, it just take a weapon slot from one of the chaos marine in your squad (in general it's the CC weapon that go but you can model your icon bearer the way you want). Daemon unit can scatter, just like in the deepstrike rule but it's almost an advantage.
Anyway, Daemons are a lot of fun. Try to summon 2 squads of bloodletters with a squad of 5 chaos space marines your opponent didn't consider as a treat and see his jaw drop
lol yeah that would be a riot to see my friends jaw drop when I deploy a couple squads of daemons. So I can summon any amount of daemons I wish? And all I have to do is roll to see if I can.lol well thanks guys.

You take Daemon squads like you take CSM's squads, you have to pay for them and they count toward the maximum troop limit. They are not free like you seem to think. Some are cheap, the best ones are quite expensive... Read the chaos codex it will help you get an idea about it.
Also dont make them too big or two small as they deploy witht he reserve/deepstrike rules. You use an ordance templete and have one model under the hole and build round it in a circle, if its too big or too close to enemy the models which cant be put down then are counted as destroyed.
