I have played Space Marines for a long time and am thinking about starting a Chaos army as they are the hardest army I have time beating. The Emperors Children Legion really appeals to me and I was wondering what I should buy first. Any suggestions? Any tactics I should use?
Get the 'Emperor's Children' boxed set, and then mail order any extra weaponry you might need. It's quite expensive, but since you only need maximum 6 anyway, with two already supplied, it's not too bad.
After that? Either some more noise marines, or some daemonettes, and a HQ of some kind (this is something you have to think about and make a choice over.) Then just pick what you like, I'd recommend heavy support. Consider the Forge World Emperor's Children dreadnought or sonic dreadnought if you're quite wealthy, the models are lovely.
for your HQ use a non stature prince.
I would sujest using a normal chaos lord (the one with the powerfist and combie melta)
use the sword from the emporers children box set on one arm and put a pistol on the other for one really cool lord.
life is an icecream and you just have to lick it
Both bikes and Terminators benefit a great deal from the stable platform rules if you give them sonic blasters...though that does mean more conversion and/or bits ordering.
(I went the bits route and ordered a truly silly number of sonic blasters...very nice, but also very expensive.)
What are the upsides to Slannesh that the other marks dont give. Better intiative, right? Initive 6?-
corecction, they don't get extar initiative, they reduce the enemies initiative, do learn to tell people properly or problems will occur.Better initiative and access to some nice weaponry
And yes the sonic wepaons are awesome, imaging an assault sqaud of 12 troops and 3 doom sirens in it.
I didn't say it was an initiative bonus, I said it was better. Also if the person had their codex they wouldn't be confused would they? Do learn to read peoples posts properly or problems will occur.Originally posted by Dreachon@Feb 4 2005, 14:18

Yes indeed, I made 36 Noise marines out of the normal CSM's with converted weaponary.Originally posted by Nayra@Feb 4 2005, 06:41
I would recommend against buying the Emporers Children boxed set and just buy a normal one and convert your own sonic weaponry. It's way too expensive otherwise. But if you do have the cash go for it. Power to ya.
Take the bolter and make it into a Sonic blaster and the Heavy bolter into a blastmaster
