I am know that both armys have completely different fighting styles, but daemon hunters sound pretty cool from what I have read but i still need to find out more... however... I have the Chaos Space Marine codex and I have found that if I were to go chaos that I would go khorne... Since I have played space wolves khorne isnt really that different because of all the assulting that I will need to be doing but i still dont know about daemon hunters...
if i went khorne I would definitly have terminators with feel no pain which looks awsome... so for 41 points ( i think thats right) I would be fielding a mean mean termi...
let me know what you think!

Despite being an Imerium-hating narcisist, I would probably go for DH. WE, I find, are a little uninteresting. Not that it's a bad list, just its far too combat orientated, and Khornate marines are rediculously powerful. Oh, and I hate the Berzerker Glaive. It's just way beardy.
DH have a very different appeal. Yes, they are ubered-up marines with many powerful upgrades etc. but requires more tactical thinking and is more of a challenge. Given the choice I would prefer to face a DH army, not because it would be a more balanced fight but I reckon I would find it much more enjoyable, as oposed to having seven shades of proverbial kicked out of me, left right and centre. Why not go for a change? Evceryone loves assult, but DH would be more of a challengeSince I have played space wolves khorne isnt really that different because of all the assulting that I will need to be doing but i still dont know about daemon hunters...
Now I'm gonna have every WE player bitching at me ... it was Tzeentch! He made me say it!
Only bitching at you for this bit, the rest was all kosher. How d'you come to that conclusion? It's a lot of points for what it does, and it comes with a big downside too. A DP with a glaive can easily be neutralised if you know how.Originally posted by monsieurcartier@Feb 6 2005, 19:29

Balls to how much it costs. 4+invulnerable. Double base attacks. DOUBLE??? :oOnly bitching at you for this bit, the rest was all kosher.Â* How d'you come to that conclusion? What's this? My carnifex and hive tyrant have been cut in half on the first turn?
This actually happened to me. I rest my case.
Not first turn of combat. First turn. I fail to see how that can be neutralised. Woo, he's a squad on his own. Good for him. Just like my TMCs.
[EDIT]Sorry, that may have sounded a little sarcastic. I've had a long day. Three 800-word history essays.
"Beardy" is just your cheap comeback becuase you always lose to it, and refuse to accept that your tactics may be to blame. But since you obviously haven't yet found a way to beat him, I'll give you some tips on how.
- Firstly - don't get in combat faster than you need to. Remember he can only move and charge a maximum of 18" in one turn - any more than that and he's cheating.
- Since he's a squad, you can pick him out as a target even if he doesn't have Stature. Hit him with enough bolters/flashlights/starcannons and he'll fail those saves/FnP rolls eventually. Or just drop a demolisher cannon on his head - if he fails his invulnerable save he ain't getting back up from that.
- He always Blood Frenzies, so use a Landspeeder/Vyper/Scarabs/Gargoyles/whatever to do the "carrot on a stick" trick, and entice him where you want him, i.e. away from your lines.
- If you can, keep moving and just ignore him. He won't be doing any shooting, he can't claim objectives and if you stay far enough away you can just ignore him the whole battle.
I'm sorry, but that actually made me laugh.Originally posted by Anacron@Feb 7 2005, 14:47

This means that the majority of the weapons on the board get.. 1 free turn of shooting, at a guy with a 2/3 chance of deflecting most hits, and a 1/2 chance of ignoring any weapon in the game. Who likely has a toughness of 5-6, and, if your opponent is really that paranoid about strength 10 weapons, can't be insta-killed.
On the whole, it can be beaten, maybe it's not -beardy- as such, but it's certainly annoying and quite overused.
You're right though, the best tactic is just to bait him away from your army. It's typical khorne really.. strong, but very, very stupid.
Well I cant help but throw my 2 cents in, I currently have 4 armies, Tau, Spped Freakz (orks), IG and my beloved WORLD EATERS. I am quite partial to my little Zerkers the thrill of the assualt and the down right MEAN lords you can make, WOW ill take 6 Lightnig Claw attacks +d3 on the charge, its hurtful. My personal Favorite though is my Speed Freakz, theres nothin cooler than 3000 points of Trukz, Buggiez and Boyz
