I never seen a Latd army played yet by anyone, and i was thinking of joining the few...
so im asking what is your takes on the LATD, do you think they are a worthwhile force? or am i just wasting my money on these mutatants.
though what i was thinking about doing is.....
have tons of plague zombies... they have bolter saves...
get a basi... and defiler..
and possibly some hth masters in between the mass and the firepower...
like khorne berserks..
this allows you to mass, and save.. and also bombard the enemy.
then when hth comes, your hth specialist will come out from the back and wipe the enemy.
this can scare necrons.. and power armoured foes..
orks..nids will have to try to get through the zombie barrier, which allows you to attack them first.. if you charge..
imo.. its pretty all rounded..
umm... i'd say that they are a great army to play. you can have loads of stuff from the chaos codex, a ton of IG vehicles, and loads of mutants, traitors and whatever else. because of the thousands of possibilities when selecting an army list, it is an increadibly tactically doverse army, as it can be anything from a horde cc army, or a few shooty guys backing up a few more cc guys. you can have an army mainly composed of deamons, or you can have no deamons, you can have a tank heavy army, you can have a tank free army. so as you can see, it is a very good army if you like thinking up tactics, which then makes it very fun to play as you aren't always using the same old tactics(like with tyranids and necrons). i'd say go for it!
EDIT: in response to your edit: khorne berserkers will count as elites.
if you are reading this signature, then you are wasting you're time, and i am wasting my time by writing it, so run along now, jimmy, run along.
I love plague zombies, but mainly for the fluff because they can be a pain due to their random movement.
And hiding your cc units in hordes of cheap models wont work... all the enemy has to do is pass a leadershiptest or shoot with a vehicle.

i've seen a person use a small one b4... consist of like a few demons, 10 cadians with a heavy bolter, choas aspiring champion and a unit of khorne berserkers
i surely wanna try out the zombies
I'm trying a LatD its great for converting but tactical its a very hard army to play. not at all like my Black Legion which is probably the most straight forward army ever.

I use LATD as a allied force for my evil fallen angel army
it works well most people ignore the hoard of mutants and shoot at the chaos but i use my mutants to summon my bloodletters and charge, works well
Well that was fun
I use them with my chaos almost every time I use them. I really wannna start a Plague Zombie army aswell with hoardes of zombies and a couple of basilisks.

I'm using them as the normal troops that sreve my IW, it's a great army for converting IMO.
The tactical options are almost infinite and can really be a naightmaire for an opponent to face a LatD army as they don't have a clue on what your gonna field.
I am starting a LatD army, but not for the tactical side of the army. I just want a fun army to play with. Imperial Guard were boring, Daemonhunters were moreso, and Eldar just is kinda bleh.
I will be taking a bunch of plague zombies, and likely no vehicles. I want an organic army, so i'll likely take scaly big mutants as giant zombies, chaos spawn, and obliterators.
