    Flamers of Tzeentch

    So i am thinking of stariting a Thousand Sons army, just because i have seen very few of them around where i play (specifcally none). I was looking at the flamers of tzeentch daemons, and they just look sick. For the points you get 3 str5 ap4 assault shots per model, plus 2 wounds and a 5+ invulnerable save, which is nothing to scoff at! It seems they would be wicked against just about any army, especially eldar, tau, tyranids. What are your experiences with this often overlooked daemon?

    First you have gotta remember there high cost, instability, low toughness and weakness in an attack. But beside that, I find them to be one of the best daemon units, being able to kill entire units in one round of fire. They are also useful against power armoured opponents, as the number of saves needed is quiet large. I generaly play with 2 9 man packs of flamers, and they are yet to not get there points back.     I dont play Thousands Sons, but i have a big Word Bearer army.I use flammers very rare and when i want to use Tzeencth deamons i prefer horrors they are more trust worthy and also the points, but flammers are very good shooty deamons(The best in the game) but the are very tricky.So for start i say dont use them, use the standar Tzeentch daemon, Horror.

    For my first game I jumped into the deep end with two squads of 9 flamers against the almighty Guard (str 8 ahoy!). And I must say they excelled beyond belief. I point, they kill. Not a single squad could stand up to the firepower. From playtesting it's true of Orks and Tyranids as well. I've been killing around 12-15 in a squad each turn, which is just disgusting.

    As for if they are better than Horrors, I couldn't say as I haven't tried. But for only 6 points more I can't really see why Horrors would be better than Flamers. Though I can see them having troubles against Necrons, with a 3+ save and WBB. Though I think that's a problem for Tzeench as a whole. So meh
