Is there a way that your Greater Daemon isnt so fragle? That instability rule really messes up my Lord of Change, but when he is alive he does soooo much damage and is so much fun lol... help?
Just pick good time to unleash it. For a Lord of Change it shouldn't be too hard. On turn one power your troops forward 12" in a rhino and rapid fire. Second turn summon the Lord of Change (get Daemonic Chains to do this, you have a 75% chance of getting it when you want) and have him move 12", winds of chaos, then charge. Third turn woldn't be too bad either.
Thousands Sons are so tough that the chances of the AC dying before you summon the GD is pathetically small. Just don't tool out your AC. I'd leave him at the base 24 points. Shy away from giving him psychic powers or a power weapon (he'll be at Str 6 anyway).
Beasts of Chaos (4000)
Chaos Marines (3000)
yeah thats what I tried doing... but yeah, it didnt work out so well lol... it was probably just luck of the rolls, he came out first turn :p my AC got shot up, so he came out and smashed up a SM HQ squad... but i couldnt kill the land raider crusaider :'(
Try giving your Daemon Host AC "Daemonic Chains". For twenty points more, you have much more control of when and where your Greater Daemon appears. I take this power any time I play with a greater daemon - in the past, it's saved my ass more times than I can remember.
And kudos for playing with a greater daemon. I don't know why more people don't play with one.
Probably because when most people think of Greater Demon they think of Bloodthirster. And when they think of Bloodthirster they think of cheese. :p . Give an aspiring champion a power sword and have a Bloodthirster in him, there a strength 8 super-marine which when you kill turns into a super-demon!

I would rather give the AC nothing, maybe some chains but I am tzeentch so he comes out on a 3+ second turn any way, so when he dies its not a big loss to my army. thanks for the suggestions, KEEP EM COMING! :p
I play with a blood thirster but dont give my aspiring champ anything but daemon chains. That way the enemy cant tell which model the bloodthirster ios coming from and he can usaully appear at the right moment of the battle.
Consider using your LoC fig to represent a Lord.Originally Posted by Centum

I have a Chaos lord, but i was wondering if i should also have a Daemon Prince... because i definatly need a MC... so should i replace my Lord of Change with a Daemon Prince?... however I like the idea of summoning the lord of change, so he cant be shot at untill hes right up there on the line :p
When I get my Great Unclean One, Im loading him in my havoc squad with MoN and plasma guns. Give my AC daemon chains and have a kai gun toting lieutenant. Do damage, unleash daemon, tie up assault units trying to kill your havocs. Rinse and Repeat.
