I read the iron warriors Primarch thread and read about the banishment of angron. i read a story about it in the V.old chaos codex, he fought in the first war of armmagedon and got beat up by a Grey Knight terminastor squad, he also had a bodyguard opf bloodthirsters. Hoh mint would that be in the game!! I was just wondering is there a actual way to kill a DP or are they immortal. when there banished what do you think would actually happen? is it like your american/canadian ice hockey thing with a sin bin (im British so i dont understand your sports realy). or do they need to be resummended to gain physical form? It Just puzzled me. Anythoughts would be nice. thanks. DJ87
I admit to not knowing how it's handled 'fluffwise'. But 'opinionwise' I think that it probably would depend on the mood of whatever Chaos god the DP followed.
If it was a favored DP that got iced, it would probably be punished and sent back out, but if it was in disfavor I doubt you would see a return.
The only mention I can make 'fluffwise' (and maybe it's because he wasn't a DP, but that's probably debatable as well ) is look what happened to Horus! He led the greatest crusade against mankind that the Chaos Gods had ever seen! If they were capable of granting anyone a second chance at the job, you would think Horus would be the guy they wanted!
I mean what else short of total victory does a Warmaster have to do around here! Abaddon has been f****** up the job for 10,000 years and he's still their golden boy!
Show Horus some love, Chaos Gods! That's all I'm saying! Show him some love!! Hehe!

Horus was not a DP nor is Abaddon. they want to prove to humanity that there capable of destroying all of humanitys work while still in there mortal state.
Angron, once World eaters primarch (Khorne) now a DP, is banished but awaiting to come back. its a bit wierd aint it.
I didn't intend to imply that Horus or Abbadon were DP's, they are not. Although they clearly have given up their souls and if they haven't given up their souls yet I can't imagine a Chaos God that would be unwilling to stand at deaths door and ask either Horus or Abbadon if they would rather die or become a DP, and for that matter I don't picture either of them turning it down! (and Abbadon uses more Daemonic gifts than any Chaos Lord I've ever fielded!)Originally Posted by danjones87
What I was saying was that if the Chaos Gods had the power to bring back DP's, maybe they could do so with the Warmaster's and if that's the case, Horus should be first on the list!
Sorry for any confusion.

There was a piece of fluff that said Abbadon had probably been offered Daemonhood after each of the Black Crusades, but turned it down because he wants to rule the meterial plane.Originally Posted by Joker
Yes Abbadon was offered immortality after every crusade. It hints at it in the chaos codex. I'm not sure about the 13th crusade but probobly. If you read some of the novels like execution hour and shadow point you'd find out that (at least recently) abaddon has been fulfilling certain goals on each crusade. He's built his super planet killer ship and is in the process (or already has) captured artifacts of immense power called blackstone fortresses. I fairly sure you have to be a daemon to be able to come back on your own. But if the emperor can bring someone back (saint sabbat in guant's ghosts novels) then the chaos gods prob. can too. Maybe they didn't bring back Horus for the same reason abaddon slightly hates him. Because he showed a moment of weakness and let final victory escape. Plus it's rumored abaddon is his cloned son so that's pretty cool. On one more note in one of the index astartes (maybe black legion) the thousand sons or emperors children (prob. TS) tried to clone Horus after he died but abaddon attacked and stopped them. On one more note GW has said this time and time again that no one side in 40k will ever fully realize their goals and destroy humanity or whatever. It's always going to be in this state of turmoil so we the gamers have unlimited imagination to do whatever. You want to play a game where Russ comes back to fight with his space wolves in a campaign? great. You want to play a game where Horus comes back and fights for control of his legion with abbadon? go for it. It's all what we want to do. But im sure it wasen't their goal to have like 50% of all players out there to play space marines and 50% of the chaos players play Khorne... I miss the days where you'd see more orks or DE...
for Daemonic abilities abbadon should be a DP!
yeah abbadon was not very keen on horus after he let the galaxy slip away from him.
i read that the battle between horus and the emperor was like a battle between gods, the emperor is a god, so that would kind of imply that horus had kind of become a god himself. the god of undivided. on another note arhiman is set to become a god if he gets somthing from the black libaray.
abbadon will never be as good as horus was, as horus was the son of a god, and the best primarch as well. abbadon will have been augumented by the gods but will not be anywhere near the power of horus. did anyone see the poster freee with WD not that long ago?? it had horus stood of sangiuinus and the emp stodd with his dodgey marine boys? look at what horus has in his left had, its a mace, quite weird as im sure that the other pictures they have made all had him with two lightening claws, it would make sense him having two lightening claws. lunar wolves, wolf claws..
ah well DJ87
Demaon princes of course can come back because they arent true fesh and blood. they are part flesh and blood but also are formed from the immaterium itself just like the demons they summon. The summoned demons cannot be killed outside of the warp, they must be destroyed while within the warp. i'd expect the same applies to demon princes.
Also the emperor destroyed horus's presence in the warp as well as killing his physical body.
Yep, Horus no longer has a soul, but I don't suppose that would stop the Chaos Gods from resurrecting him (look at the culexus and pariahs, they are formed from humans who have no warp 'soul') but GW wouldn't do that as they tried to move away from uber-powerful characters. Having primarchs running around again would be quite poo, tbf. Even people hate C'tan. I mean, Sanguinius wasn't even the strongest and he broke a bloodthirster's back!
And it was the Emperor's Children (or rather Fabius Bile, under their protection) that were trying to clone Horus until Abaddon nukes whatever moon they were on (which I believe is why Bile needs the Chieuraeurblargraaahgon. Does anyone know how to say that word properly?)
