well, i was swayed to the Emperor's light for a while, and got it into my head to have an IG army, but i cant stand the lure of chaos, so here i am.
i have catachan jungle fighters, and i was wondering if i could use them in a game as possessed, i understand they're not space marines, but they would have "gifts" that would make them like a marine in power etc etc, and i will model them apprpriately, with some mutations from the chaos marines box.
and i'm painting them red, to match either a Word Bearers' or World Eaters' color scheme, i like them both, but i'll put that in another post or something, but any advice on the initial question would be appreciated, thanks in advance
I dont see why not. They look mutated enough even when they are modelled as they are supposed to be. What type of chaos dudes are they going to be, that is to say are they the, um, thingys from codexye of terror, errr, ach SHIZEN!!! You know what i mean, the ones that arn't chaos marines, but rather normal sized dudes. If they are that type, they're perfect.
If you chaos'd them up, you could definitely make them the perfect Traitors and use the Lost and the Damned list in Eye of Terror codex to combine them with your Word Bearers. You could even come up with a sweet story as to how your Catachans went evil. >=D

hmmmmm...so you're saying that i can use them as mutants because of the rules in Codex: Eye of Terror? cool, but can i use them in normal matches, or tournies? and i do have a story for them, its frikkin sweet. but i'll post that tomorrow cuz i'm off school!
Hall of Hereos (GW Tournaments) just got a rules update and The Lost and The Damned were listed as an approved list. Catachan bitz are perfect for creating mutants when you mix with zombie parts.

If you asking can you use them to represent normal chaos marines you may run into a "no" at rogue traders and "what you see is what you get" tournaments. As mutants: yes I have seen this before, and with some mixing of Chaos Maruarders from the fantasy sprues they make very nice mutants. However, you would at least need some of the plastic chaos marines bodies/ legs. With the legs you could make a good argument that they don't need full power armor to protect them. However, if you use lasguns to represent bolters.... many opponents may have issues with it.

Hey,They could represent LatD Traitors if they're still mostly Catachan-looking.Originally Posted by sonofslaanesh
Mutants with Firearms are not very cost-effective, imo.Sure. They could represent Cultists in an Alpha Legion list as well.can i use them in normal matches, or tournies?
