On the lord model he comes with a power fist and a combi-melta, but it does not say that he has true grit. Can lord and liutenants get true grit?
To the extent of my knowledge, only Plague Marines get True Grit. So, no, I'm guessing.
A man's at odds to know his mind, for his mind is aught he has to know it with.
Yes he can, all models with the Mark of Nurgle can use True Grit, they may only use it with a bolter, so Kaigun, combi-bolter and heavy bolter ( just in case somebody asks ) can't be used with True Grit
So yeah, a lord or lieutenant can have true grit but he has to have the mark of nurgle. You'd think they'd make it a veteran skill with all the time CSMs have to hone their skills. Just something you gotta put up with.
then what is better haveing a combi weapon or a lot of cc attacks?!
All depends on your style. If you're army is CC, i'd say a leader that can join them at the front is a pretty good asset. On the other hand, if your army is shooty then go with a combi. Furthermore shooty can have several different meanings, so that will determine the combi you have.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
Hey,Most MC/ ICs are Close Combat dynamos. A Shooty HQ is pretty rare in a Chaos list.Originally Posted by ig-12
I'm guessing that you'll keep the Fist. If so, you might swap the BGun for a Pistol.
Consider DMutation and Spiky in this case.
You could then give the Combi to a Tank-Hunting Champ.
Have fun, and good luck!
Well a combi-bolter is only a bolter that you can shoot twice if you fail your first roll to hit and since it's still only S4, it's not that good. It would be a shame to lose that Initiate 5 on your character so if you really don't know what to take just give him a Manreaper, it's one of the best weapon Nurgle Dedicated Lords and Lieutenants can have. Also you might want to use that model with the power fist as an Aspiring Champion even if he is supposed to be a Lord, like I said, to lose that I5 is a shame and that's what you're doing by giving him a Power Fist.Originally Posted by ig-12
If you really want a Shooty Lord then the Kai Gun is for you and I guess it can be modeled by a combi-bolter, at least you will be able to kill something with it
Then why did Games workshop put combi in there if your hero has a greater potencal if he is CC orented.
well, in a low points game, you might want something better than a bolter while maintaining a shooty army so you could spend your points on other troops. Also, keep in mind that combi-bolters are available to aspiring champions as well.
why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly
