I had trouble facing necrons with my deamon prince and blood therster.
My deamon prince got in CC with 2 or 3 tomb spiders (with scarbs) and about 20 warriors. He had demonic arua, strangth, toughness, stature, and the demonic item that gives +2 strangth. He fell pritty after 2 turns of fighting, my other hero got in there and but he got posessed by the blood therster and he did not do as much as i expected him to.
Was it just my rolling or did they get in a situation that they could not win?
wow its not supprising he lost 20 warriors can definatley make a dent in heros and so can 2-3 tomb spiders. i dought you would have won if your deamon prince and bloodthirster were there at the same time
Which Halo character are you?
You talk alot, you don't do much, but at times you can be invaluable.
I think it may have been bad rolling. Tomb Spiders are not that strong, and although there were a lot of warriors they won't all be attacking and at over S8 they can't get back up.
Also, you said your other hero was possessed; ws this a lieutenant? If so, you can't do that. If you mean an AC then the rest of his squad should have helped. Remember the AC fights at the strength of the daemon and should of at least had a power weapon to utilise that strength. I would have thought they could have lasted at least 3-4 turns and taken a load of necrons with them, especially a bloodthirster. The necrons would have been hitting on 5's!
sorry i look back and it was not nother HQ it was a AC with a few marines with him but they did little but die, because of the "we'll be back".
we'll be back is a pain! and dont talk to me about reserection ords (i can smell the cheese from here)
I think the best way to beat necrons is (as obviouse as it sounds!) remember thw misson objective. I have played necrons sevral times and i find shooting and trying to get them to phase out is not a bad plan ( depending on the force!), shoot for the warriors they are the easiest taget! squads with power weapons/fists i find work well to!
Maybe you didnt give him good stuff i can get 10 stregth 7 re-rolling and getting more attacks on 6's is effective . ill test it now 9 hit , 8 wounded no armour saves. hes beaten
new carnifixs ( just )
abbadon the despoiler
typhus herald of nurgle
kharn the betrayer ( just )
and hes 196 points
maybe you had bad rolling
^^^ is that English?
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
was he making the we'll be back rolls for all of you attacks? he shouldn't have been. If I added it up correctly your lord was also strength 8... thus also negating the we'll be back?? I don't fully understand necrons... and the desruption orb is frustrating if he had that. If so i've found when your in hand to hand target your independent character vs his. Plus Necron lord are usually the first one's I go after.
