I just cant think of which. I want some CC power in my army and I love the Idea of having 8 Noise Marines with Vet Skill Furious Charge and their AC with a Chaos Spawn, Dark Blade and Combat Drugs plus the Warp Scream from MoS.
However I already plan on getting Daemonettes. So I dont know. I might not be able to get them though, I think my mom would have a fit over them but I dont know yet, plus I suck at details.
He he.. Yeah, I got some funny looks when I was painting mine. But the new models certainly beat the bald crabs of old.Originally Posted by Osaria
They do require a lot of details.
But gamewise they rock.. A little fickle, perhaps, but the last game I played they pretty much tripled their points in terms of units killed.
But the first unit you mention looks powerful.. I have a similar one myself (without the tooled up AC.. just my daemonhost) and it has worked well in the past, though not as impressive as the daemonettes. Give it a blastmaster as well, since they can fire it as an assault weapon out of the hatch of the rhino as it's speeding along. Very amusing, especially if the rhino has a warp amp.
If you're playing the EC list as well remember to keep stuff in 6s, especially the noise marines, it really helps keep down the already formidable costs.
I cant really afford that, if I kept my NM and later Daemonetes in multipals of 6s I would be broke. I would rather have 2 sqauds of 8 NM and a sqaud of 10 Damonettes than to have 2 sqauds of 6 NM and 1 sqaud of 6 deamonettes and have 4 of each left over.Originally Posted by The_Giant_Mantis
Well, if you're doing that.. Why not play the standard chaos list. You could include things like obliterators and raptors and, if you felt like bending the fluff a bit, you could still paint them in EC colours.Originally Posted by Osaria
It's a nice idea, in fact, and would produce quite a powerful army. I'd consider it.
Sticking to the Ec list is cool because you get some cool advantages, but it can also be infuriating.
And daemonettes come in packs of 3.. so actually 10 is an extremely poor number to choose.
I'm assuming the actual question is whether to get a cc sqd or a bolter sqd right? Well I would go cc. But thats just my playing style. If you give me an idea of what your army is (or what you plan it to look like) I can be more specific.
From my experience it's always good to have about a 2:1 ratio of CC:shooting in an EC army. I usually run 2 squads with sonic weaponary, 2 CC squads and 2 Daemonette squads.
