IĀ“m soon to become an owner of the DOOM3 board game, which means I will also be recieving the Cyberdemon model... Daemonprince!
But, having looked in the codex, it has come to the light that the DP:s are way to weak and exposed for their points cost...
There is only one solution..... a Khornate Daemonprince!
I can see it now... a big cyberbeast running towards his opponents, screaming ``BLOOOOOD!!``, slashing with his monstrous glaive, lascannon shots hitting his bionic legs and chest, causing no damage at all(feel no pain)....
But,but.... I donĀ“t want a Khorne army!
I mean, sure I can take 1 or 2 units of Zerkers(hopefully just 1...), but then what??
The only thing I can do about it is really in the fluffy part... the DP(name?) was part of the siege of Terra(that means, a long time ago), leading a warband of crazed psychopaths.
Upon the defeat of Horus, the DP and his surviving warriors fled, and were almost annihilated by the pursuit parties of the Imperium.
He managed to escape, with him only a handfull of bloodthirsty warriors.
Then IĀ“m thinking that maybe he could have stumbled his way into a space-pirate base(CSM without marks at all) and destroyed their leader... forcing the others to worship him as a demi-god.
Or could he maybe lead a Black Legion army??
I really donĀ“t know, please post your oppinions.
After I read about the Cyberdemon I immediately thought: Iron Warriors. As I kept reading that opinion was only affirmed. Not only would the model fit into the heavy-technology focus of the Iron Warriors, but they're also about the only non-Khorne army I'd have a DP in. I agree that they are frequently too vulnerable without a 4+ invulnerability save. The reason why Iron Warriors will be ok is because there are so many worse things to shoot at than your DP. A smart player will realise that your DP will have little backup, and a DP without backup will not be doing much, and will at least get bogged down in a squad. They'll focus their attention on all those nasty heavy weapons that are flying at them. A newer player will probably automatically think the DP is the worst thing in your army, so they'll focus everything on it, leaving your heavy weapons relatively unscathed. Seems pretty win/win to me.
Just be sure, though, to back him up with one or two CC squads if you are going to take him in Iron Warriors. With Furious Charge, bps + ccws, and an AC with a powerfist, Iron Warriors are still fantastic CC troops.

As you stated get one or 2 sqds of zerkers for fluff purposes. The rest of your army can be whatever you want it to be. The only difference is that the zerkers count as troops. Do you want your army to be cc? Get a sqd of raptors/bikes and maybe some daemons. You want it to have lots of fire power while the lord and sqds charge forward? Get some havoce, oblits, a pred, or/and a defiler. I would balance out the frothing madmen with a support sqd of reg troops with bolters and some oblits and havocs. From their it's really up to you and you playing style. For fluff you can do a lot of things. I'd write something about him being a member of IW/BL/NL/AL/WB/DIY legion and the commander slowly sliding into the embrace of Khorne. And the rest of the army is slowly following (hence the sqd or two of zerkers).
How is that Doom3 board game BTW?
