Hi all, i am starting a Word Bearers army.
I know that their armour is Red Gore, but should i put a different colour underneath that to bring it out a bit more, or should i use magenta ink instead?
Thanks for any help. S.I.
When I had WB I primed em' black. 1st coat was blood red, then red gore, then some dark red ink for highlighting. But that was just my preference.
Its up to you if you want to put a colour underneath the red gore but i cant think why you would IMO.Id just prime them black the red gore the bascoat the either red or black ink them if do a 50-50 mix of red gore and blood red highlight,That might work. But with the World Bearers you want that really dark maroney colour anyway keep that in mind aswell so your World Bearers dont turn out like Blood Angels! lol.
Black Katalyst is right, the red will look a lot more prominant if you use black trim such as round the shoulder plates and the stripe thing down the helmet. If you use any of the mutated heads, a pale palette will be best. Megenta or dark red ink is almost a must, it will bring the colour even further forward and is the only way to get a 'true' WB red. You can still make them impressive without, it comes down to personal preference.
