Tyrants (I6 thats fast)
swarms (there are soo many)
carnies (T7 St 10 thats tough to beat)
others (ones that i avent said
i am thinkijg that possed with rendering will be good at least the tyrant will only wound on 3+ so thats goos so some of them will be alive i kjnow that i can plasma the bog things a far bit and flamer the swarms to death buit i want to know what you suggest and use agasnt them. thanks for and replys i get =)

Well, I play nids, and it is really annoying when you have an enemy that can shoot you down, and still hold their own in a combat, and have tough armour (Greyhunters with bolters, true grit and ccw's)!
Well, I don't really know much about chaos, but greater daemons sound very scary! You should maybe get some bloodletters as well, as those strength 5 power weapon attacks are quite good against the big beasties.
What branch of chaos are you?

Death guard have a problem with Nids that I've noticed. The main problem is that none of them can carry heavy bolters or lascannons (Among other things) which really reduces the amount of damage that a squad can do.
Instead, you have to rely on tanks to kill Nids for you.
If I were you I would take a couple of Chaos Preds with nothing but Heavy Bolters and Autocannons. I would also consider taking a Dreadnaught or two with twin linked Heavy Bolters and Missile Launchers. Heavy Bolters, Autocannons and Missile Launchers will cut through hordes of Nids like a hot knife through butter.
I find that the guard are chaos answer to the nids.
Massed Squads with nurgles rot will see off the swarms who will bounce off your high toughness and armour while you true grit them to pieces.
Havoc squads with 4 plasma guns are your answer to monsterous creatures on average thats 3 wounds on T7 4 wounds on T6, ie dead tyrant.
Throw a few power fists around as well for emergencies. Did i mention aspiring champs with nurgles rot.
Possessed aren't worth it as they dont have the toughness, cost too much and since theywill BE charged not charge you may as well have regular DG.
So in summary:
- Lots of Tac DC with aspiring champs with the rot, thats your battle line.
- A few possibly rhino mounted Havocs with Plasma, MC hunters
- A tasty plague infested lord who may be has a plague sword for intant death and of course, the rot.
I find that vehicles fall too easily to nids, leave em at home and go with your strengths, Fearless, T5, Power armoured Plague carriers!!!!
Ask not a question of the eldar, for they will give you three answers all of which are true and horrifying to know.
I have a friend who plays with DG (Robizzle) and he has done pretty spectacularly.
He tends to do best with.
Lots of DG squads, T5 means little nidz bounce off and true grit and nurgles rot thin the enemy ranks pretty quick.
Plus a S5 aspiring champion with a plague sword sees off big nidz damned fast.
He posted a 3000pt battle report Nidz v's DG, its very informative if you can find it.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
don't forget about your defilers... nids don't have much in the way of AT shooting, and pieplates scare horde armies, a lot.
Plague swords are a must for every aspiring champion. Combined with the death guard's boltguns, they should be a match for the big beasties and the small ones. Also, Terminators will work wonders against both bigguns and small guys, with their combi-bolters and giving them power fists or plague swords.
A lord with a manreaper and daemonic strength and furious charge should cut through both small creatures and hive tyrants due to it's weight of attacks. A kai gun will rip up both high-toughness enemies and low toughness due to it's weight of fire.
Also, predators and defilers can turn their hands/claws/turrets to both big creatures and hormagaunts or genestealers. Havocs with meltaguns are fantastic for warriors and hive tyrants and carnifexes.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

I'm always hesitant to take terminators against nids. They're very expensive, and the bulk of what you pay for is the 2+/5+ save and versatility (decent shooting with decent close combat). Against a MC though, the 2+ save is completely eradicated, and they're striking second -- meaning a great deal of points could be wiped out very quickly. Combine that with their low mobility, and it's pretty easy for an opponent to either flat out avoid this investment, or wipe it out quickly with a MC if it's small enough.Originally Posted by Lordofchange
Not that terminators are bad. I just find them a risky investment generally -- I have some but almost never play them, just because it's hard to justify their points cost.
My Death Guard Army also seems to have a good time fighting nids......Plague sword AC's with extra strength......love it. As everyone else has said that extra toughness really comes in handy against nids and rot works exceptionally well. Mixed CSM squads with a flamer and plazma make a mess of all nid types and an all plazma havoc squad (with combi-melta Aspiring Champ with the rot...he) will make short work on dem bugs. Im currently starting a new nid army after having spent about 2 years on death guard so comparisons are never far from my mind.
Dont underestimate the plague sword....lots of folks use powerfists instead but i just gotta us Nurgles own wargear....mur ha haaar.....also nothing like shoving a big fat special rule down a Carnis mouth.....although nids are immune to instant death (within synapse) by weapons that are twice their toughness, this does not apply to the plague sword as it has its own rules......the look on peoples faces when i pull that one out....he
A Rhino? SLOTH!
thanks for the advice so far
this is what he would usally use (he hasnt versed my Death guard yet)
30ish guants (usally shooting ones)
10 or so genstealers
2 broods of 3 warroius with redndering and venom cannon
and a carnie
and probanly the brood lord (hasnt came out yet in aus)
i will give my aspiring power fists or 2 at least and the other with plague sword (wysiwyg)
and have a havox squad with 4 plasma and a lord with d strength, speed manreaper furious charge
thanks for all the avice so far and please keep it comeing
