ok, i have a nice lord, 2 really nice raptor squads, a biker squad and 2 large marine squads in my night lords 1500 points.
but i have 138 points left over.
i was thininking about using a dreadnaught-
i'm thinking about ordering the forge world night lord dread.
any other suggestions on a different config??
It depends on who your facing:
Large numbers I suggest:
Twin Linked Heavy Bolter
Twin Linked Autocannon
I hope this helps

I thought the arms on a dreadnought were inter-changable. Anyway, I suggest that ou give your dread some long range fire power, or give it what you want and get some havocs, etc.. You seem to be going assault heavy and you might want to shoot back before the first turn or two in which your bikers/raptors are shot at. I would order it fom forge world. If you can paint it well then all the foreg-worldy decorative bits will make it stand out and look unique.
Also what do your normal marine squads look like? Are they cc heavy? If they are you might want to get them some rhinos.

And the almighty Dice God said to his followers "Thou shalt not speak ye words "anything but a one" For thou whoever'st speaketh this blasphemy will be cursed with thy rolls being of one".
Personally I bought all the weapons I think my dread would need and pick the set up depending on my opponent. Buy a couple weapons and make them interchangable using magnets or pins. You can find tips on doing this on various websites. I use pins personally, and it works great, if i want to swap my lascannon for a plasmacannon i just pull one off and stick on the other one.
buy a few different weapon combos if you can afford it, but my personal preferance would be using twin-linked lascannons and using the dreadnought to move up with the infantry, poping tanks and deterring charges. However you might also want to consider 2 rhinos for those squads, or some other means of support, such as a stealth adept, lascannon toting squad.
