I want to know rules for daemons in a black legion army. Do you need a Khorne unit to include Bloodletters/ The Codex isn't very clear.
Also who would win in a fight out of all the Greater Daemons?
I don't think you need a khorne unit to have bloodletters but i am not sure. The Bloodthirster would wions hands down in a fight vs. the rest :p
The Apples are here! They've come for the teddy! Save the Cucumber! :)Let X=X- Laurie Anderson :)I met this guy, and he looked like he might have been a hat check clerk from an ice rink, which, infact, he turned out to be. And I said "oh boy, right again."
You don't need a khorne unit for BL, they can summon any daemon no matter what god (excluding greater daemons). Game wise the blood thirster would win, but fluff-wise it might have to look out for the lord of change who would be able to see every move before it came, and possibly the great unclean one if a bloodthirster can be affected by diseases. The keeper of secrets and the great unclean one are more used for shock tactics and fight mortals fluff-wise, though.
"DICE FOR THE DICE GOD!"
And the almighty Dice God said to his followers "Thou shalt not speak ye words "anything but a one" For thou whoever'st speaketh this blasphemy will be cursed with thy rolls being of one".
There are no requirments to fielding daemons in a BL army save one. You can have any daemon you want. The only daemon you cannot have unless you have a unit with the mark of Nurgle is nurglings.
How are the rules not clear? As numberofthebeast says, daemons don't have to follow a squad with their mark- look at World Bearers. They have to have the MoCU, but they can summon any daemon they want. Daemons are just regular troops choices, even if they arrive via a deep strike-esque method.
Obviously, the exception is nurglings, as that does say that you have to have a squad with the MoN to have them. Thats what makes LatD Gibbering Hordes so great. If a codex or rulebook doesn't say that you are limited to taking units depending on your other choices, you aren't.
Not entirely correct:
The CSM Codex states that a daemon unit can be summoned through EITHER an icon matching their god or the Chaos Undivided icon. So Bloodletters could be summoned by a unit with the Mark of Khorne OR the Mark of Chaos Undivided. If neither of these are present on the table BEFORE the daemons are available they cannot be deployed and must wait for next turn.
A Chaos Undivided army can field any daemon type using a unit with the Mark of Chaos Undivided. They could also field a unit of Berserkers with the Mark of Khorne as an Elite choice and use them to summon the Bloodletters. As stated previously, Nurglings are the exception to this rule.
I do not criticize. I do not offend. All I offer is my opinion which means only as much as you make it.
