Had this Idea of starting an all terminator army. Have any of you tried or seen if this would work.
Basically the idea is to build a 2000 point army and have 3 chosen terminator squads and a Chaos Lord w/ termie armor. My compulsary troop choices would be filled out by demons depending on the god where the army will be dedicated to. Then It will be backed by a Land Raider or two for fast response and to draw away fire from the termies as they do their thing.
What mark and demon would be appropriate to complement such an army.
It seems a cool idea considering the new termie plastic models.
Hoping for any comments or feedback.
uh dude u posted this in the chaos section, chaos didnt get any new termie models......
Ooops sorry i failed to clalify. the new termie models can be easily modelled to become chaos will a little creativity. saw in the the GW site some of the cool conversions.
can't you go undivided?
you get the greatness of all the deamons.
mabye even a bloodthirster form the lord?
but if you have to dedicate, I would go with khorn. the whole idea of a marching line of death, very Khorny.
and the blood letters are a great deamon choice.
well ithought of using undivided but I notice 2 things. I only have basically 3 squads because 3 elites are only allowed in a standard battle. If the marks vary and the squad gets wiped, the demons will never see action because the mark hat they need is already gone.
And also marks are a pretty good. for example if choose nurgle, it would give me a survival chance to resist small arms fire such as bolters and lasguns. hehhee. well that's just me. but will look into your input. currently trying to make a list.
You can only take one squad of Chosen as an Elite choice. To have multiple squads of Chosen you have to take them as retinues for Lords and Lieutenants.
The only way I know of to get more Terminators is to give two regular squads the Mark of Tzeentch and then upgrading them with Terminator Armour. You won't be able to use the Mark of Nurgle if you do this though since they're ancient enemies.
It has always been my thought that if you are going to go Terminator Armor heavy with Chaos that you should do a Thousands Sons terminator army.
Their Ruberic Terminators are for just a little more you get a 2 wounds terminator and since Ruberic Terminators aren't Chosen you can take 3 full squads of them in your Elite choice. Tie in 1-2 HQ's in terminator Armor with Chosen Retinue of Terminators. For Troops grab some Horrors (Or in my prefrence Flamers for supressive fire). Maybe Dreads for heavy gun support, or Land Raiders for Transport capability. And Ta Da!!!! Terminator army that meets Force Organization chart.
Down side: Terminators are SLOW!!! If you walk them they won't get in assault range till Turn 4 at the earliest. IF you spend the points on Land Raider Transports you loose alot of points to put on Termies, and then your demons can't come out till the termies get out of the raider. If you deep stirke them all nothing is on hte table. Giving your opponent a free term to gain objectives and even then the risk of your army arriving Peice mail and easier to clean up. So yeah its the same problems Deathwing players run into. Only difference if you walk them you have two wounds to go through and not one.
"No I have not though about this for a while. Why do you ask?"
I would give everyone Land Raiders.
Mark of Tzeench means that your always in difficult terrain, so they are like super slow, even for terminators! Walking is out of the question.
As mentioned earlier, DSing can leave your army here there and everywhere, also unacceptable.
Land raiders are a sure way to get your termies to the front lines, with the exception of a lucky lascannon shot.
Another note: You're going to need the LR's to take down vehicles and other large foes that are out of reach for the ever so slow termies.
Its expensive, but its the only way as I see it
I'd find it fun to take Tzneenthc Term heavy army..Espescially in a 500 pt game ^^.
5xTzneech Marines 211
-Asp (non term)
-Bolt of change
Start with only your LT on the board..walk him forward.
Next turn summon the Horror squads
Deepstrike your Terminators near their armour
Bolt his troublesome armour (if there is any)
Proceed to annoy him with terminators that just don't want to go down.
This, to me, would be a very fun army to play with on a small scale. The Terms take care of anything too nasty, the horrors sit and shoot their Doombolt shots and what not to thin down crowds.
