Since the description of a Kai Gun is that of an oversized Bolter, does this mean I can give it Inferno Bolts? If so, I shudder at the power.
im quite sure that it is not possible to upgrade unique weapons, i got this experience after trying to master craft the dark blade :p
"Iron within, iron without."

Do you have uber micro...????
Inferno bolt rules say "sorcerous bolter, bolt pistol or combi-bolter rounds" so you can only put them in bolters, combi bolters or bolt pistols. It would be cool to put them in a Kai Gun, but also sick, you could probably kill half a squad of marines with it.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

At any rate, it wouldn't be cheap. It would be 45 points for the Mark, the Bolts, and Kai Gun, and then there's the issue of getting a leader. For a BS 5 Inferno Kai, that would be a bare minimum of 90 points.
I'd pay for it... marine killing potential is incredible. However, i'm pretty sure you can't... but it'd be nice
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
I'm sure I would pay that as well- fortunately SMurf players have been relieved of their need to cry 'cheese' at Thousand Sons armies as, like LordofChange says, you can't do it.
