I was digging through some of my brother's old space marines and he's got one biker that is unpainted, so I'm going to convert him into an Undivided Lord. What do you guys think I ought to equip him with? I'm thinking about modeling him with a daemon weapon and bolter pistol, what do you guys think?
this is a lord i use in a 1500 point Night Lords army.
he works extremely well, especially against marines. its tough though, if you put your lord on a bike its hard to keep his points down.
for a bike, i think ether lance is the best way to go. its a nasty low AP flamer and a power weapon, add furious charge, (which works nice cause he's on a bike), he's killing marines with 3+ to hit and 3+ to wound in cc and any marine the template touches on a 4+.
1 lightning claw, d aura, d mutation, spiky bits, furious charge, and a melta
With only being able to use 1 weapon on the bike, plus the extra attack the bike gives I find 1 lightning claw great value for points. You end up with 6 +1 reroll, str 5 attacks rerolling wounds on the charge. the melta allows you to fry something on the way in, or hunt tanks.
Do you mean a combimelta? You are right in saying that you can only have one weapon if you have a bike though.
As for putting a Lord on a bike, I would prefer to have a lieutenant. Too valuable to have your big boss carrering round on a bike. Even if he does get Skilled Rider for free.
That said, Black Katalyst's lord is very nice. I love the idea of an ether lance, especially against SMurfs.
My biker lieutenant looks like:
Meltabombs (fluff reasons mainly)
Nice and cheap, just how I like him. Works well against most armies once he gets colse, which is pretty quickly.
