Does anyone know the right mix of colours to make an effective word bearers scheme?
I've tried a few combinations of colours but they usually turn out more pink than red.
I also heard something about mixing blood red and red gore with a red ink wash?
ive had the pink problem with my own word bearers. and the scheme given in the chaos codex is *sparse to say the least.
i found that black undercoat, red gore base, magenta ink(full strength) will give the pink. but then a 2:1 brown ink/water wash, followed by drybrushing/hihjlighting with blood red or 3:1 red gore:skull white will work. and to make them look truly evil and dirty, a good old 1:! watered down black paint wash.
hope that helps.
(it doesnt take as long as it souns either. as it doesnt have to be precise until the drybrushing/highlighting.
for the piping on the armour, paint chainmail before the black paint wash. and after the wash highlight it with mithril silver.
the way these have come out has gotten many positive comments from other gamers and staff at my local gw.
hope it helps
