What would you suggest taking in an Iron Warriors Army to counter Khorne Beserkers and Bloodletters. The games are played on 4' by 8' table.
Thanks in advance
Plenty of things like Autocannons, Lascannons and Plasma Cannons to shoot them up before they get near, or at least put a serious dent in them. Might be an idea to have a couple of Close Combat equipped squads (Possessed spring to mind) to either mop up the remaining blood fiends or act as a speed bump and give your shooting squads some time to redeploy.

A basilisk/vindicator will certainly help, dreadnoughts will also be helpfull, mass plasmaguns also wreak havoc.

I hope you get daemon bombed with a turbo boosting biker squad dropping 15 'Letters in to your lab. Then the biker champ explodes into a Thirster. WOOT.
Your not really beeing of any help to him, he's asking for some advice.Originally Posted by HeraldOfChaos
Consider speed bumps, like said before, and take lascannons ( if they can be taken in chaos armies) to shoot down the daemon prince/chaos lord he'll most likely to have. Something to disrupt them while their advancing wil be really good, like vindicator.
Cultists in little groups can be really good for speed bumps, or if you want to do some damamge then take possessed.
i personally think that all your lascannons should just be found on your dread, and obliterators. Vindi will be great due to the fact it can instant kill his deamon prince and the zerkers. Dread should have a close combat weapon to be able to smash throught the remaining sqauds of zerkers that survive the jurney. For your troops i would recommend 2 squads of 10 with a champ and bolters and 2 plasmas. These should be behind one of your 8 man combat squads with ccw and bolt pistols, and you can give them 2 plasma pistols and a champ. Personally i woundn't really recommend the bassy, due to the fact if some one gets close it dies. I think defiler is more suitible because it can still mow down troop, with the good str and monstious creature rules. And i don't think it will make that much of a difference, 72" of Ordinace lets you controll almost all of the field. u have range upto 6' so just place it at the front of your deployment and move it up which will be around 1' so you will have all of the feild to work with. I personally don't think he will sit in his deployment zone for long. I f you go second don't even bother to move, just shoot. Still i don't really trust the defiler that much on its ordinance, i like its heavy flamer and twin-autocannon, and the fact its a mc. I think in fire power turm it will be a good adition and kill a few squads, or hurt them, but the most power is in your troop squads and your obliterators, which btw should be deep striked into the game using teleport homer on your Deamon Prince. And Deamon Prince is a no brainer, its a must have if you play an assault army.
If you would like to look at my current 1000 point Iron Warrior army its in the Chaos Army Lists , you can look at the nice Deamon Prince set up i made a few days ago.
"Iron within, iron without."
Okay, so what would you recommend getting next. So far I got 10 marines and a lord. Should I get:
-Dreadnought with Plasma Cannon
Im also getting another box of 8 troops, so how should I break them up. Im thinking 2x 5 man squads with lascannons and plasma guns, and an eight man possessed/chosen squad equipped for CC. Along with my lord and one of the heavy Suppoert choices listed above, this should make a decent 1000pt army.
Keep the ideas coming!
The Dread. So multi-purpose.
Burn the land and boil the sea. You can't take the sky from me.
Member of the Canadian Clan, eh.
Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
I would concentrate on trying to increase quantity of firepower, high model count.
