I play DE and CWE, and I have long been fascinated of chaos, which is abundant in all eldar fluff, and I have recently decided to maybe build myself a small, fluffy chaos army. I have a good idae about what a chaos army needs, because you are basically an expert version of the space marines, right? But I need some info about the chaos gods before I make up my mind. I want a subtile, decieving and alluring kind of evil, not just something big and smashy. Is there a chaos god that fits that discription, or do I have to go undivided?
Subtle, deceiving, tricking types sound like slannesh to me. Their not based around smash hitting but striking first, etc.
Hi Sareld, there is no escape, you sounds like Slanesh to me too, it is your eldar roots that make you want to go towards slanesh, so Emperors children for you my friend, although you may want to consider Night Lords too
Thanks, Slaanesh it is then. Where can I find the fluff/special rules for them? I assume that they are in some campaign or minidex.
Rules for Slanesh are in the Chaos Codex, along with rules for Emperor's children and Lucius the Eternal. Fluff is there too if you want it.Originally Posted by Farseer Sareld
IMO Slanesh is kinda like DE, cept instead of taking pleasure in inflicting pain, they take pleasure in...well things that shouldn't be discussed on this forum...
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
I know the Index Astartes I has the fluff for Emperor's Children in it. EC is an entire legion completely devoted to Slaanesh - you don't get much more Slaaneshi than them.Originally Posted by Farseer Sareld
Game play wise, EC armies tend to amass a ton of small arms fire. Imagine having three Bolter shots out to maximum range from every schlub model in your army. Yah, that's Slaanesh. They're also devestating in CC, due to the increased initiative values.
Although, I think Night Lords or Alpha Legion would suit you better, fluff wise. Night lords are about skulking around in the dark and performing small, lightning raids. They get some neat perks - like Night vision for free, and access to a cover bonus skill that no other legion can get.
Alpha Legion is all about infiltration. They use cultists as cheap fodder (Think Gaunts from 'Nids), and nearly all of their troops use Infiltration rules.
Tzeench is the god of trickery, and grand convoluted schemes, whereas Slaanesh is the god of excess and overperfectionism.
Tzeench has more spellcasters than usual, but are slow, while Slaanesh is all-arounder.

Tzeentch is far more difficult then Slaneesh is to play however.
Theres some nifty fluff on criticalhit.
I agree Tzeentch is more of a prankster lol, When I was reading your query I immediatly though to Tzeentch, because thats what I like too :p I play Tzeentch and I love the no psychic test rule.... Tzeentch is definatly the most caniving (sp?) of the gods, He is the one that brings the gods together if neccessary and is the one who makes all the plans...
Slaanesh is more hands on... deceptive in its own way, but not like Tzeentch, the only way Slaanesh is deceptive is those daemonettes lol, and that minor psychic power....
Tzeentch is for all intents and purposes an aemeba with faces all over, each of which are saying different things, sometimes they all speak the truth, sometimes they all say the same thing, sometimes all different, soemtimes they are just saying things that you want to hear, etc... you see where I'm going with this... Tzeentch is all about trickery, and confusion.
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
