so im in the process of modeling my dark apostle, how did some of you guys do it? any ideas for me? lol
i had the daemon prince model with plastic dragon wings. for the crozius i used a tank brush bristle protector tube thing. and some spiky bits from the vehicle sprue.
i used green stuff to make the head, but the defiler mask makes a great alternative.
it would help to know what you had in the list for your apostle though.
When I made a Word Bearers list (I'm a Black Legionaire now though, hail Horus!) I planned for my D.A. to have a Daemonic Steed.
This idea never came to fruition but I was thinking of basing if off a Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Knight.

Wait for a bit if you're doing a power armored walking dark apostle, the new chaplain (not the one with the scoped pistol) is wearing some rather archaic armor that could be greenstuffed and filed to provide a superb base for your apostle. If you're not into waiting on GW, try the following:
1. CSM sorceror body parts #(9947010201307) is great because he comes with a powerweapon in the shape of the chaos symbol. Remove head, insert skull shaped head (or actual skull if you give him enough gifts to become a DP, excellent oportunity for conversions)
2. Cypher's body is a good place to start, there's a skeleton modeled on chest, plus cool looking robe is a plus
3.Inquisitor Coteaz's body is another good start, very archaic looking.
4. Chaplain Xavier, very dynamic posing and good chaplain starting point.
those are some good ideas, as for this new chaplain u speak of, is there somewhere i could catch a picture of it?
as for the sorceror, i think that will be the back up plan incase the others dont turn out as well as id like them to, as i have one laying around
and thanks for the ideas! i like the cypher model, right now im thinking about using that as a base, but what do u think i could use for a crozius? i was thinking either the csm terminator power hammer or that mace from some priest (9947010801102) but thats not very original so i unno lol
as for my list, u can find it here
For my Dark Apostle i use an ordinary loyal chaplain with the eagles removed and with lots of chaos symbols added. For the Cursed Crozius i use a big WHFB mace made a bit more 40kish. Its a quick and easy conversion, and for the Cursed Crozius you can use a big variety of options.
MEAT IS MURDER
My Dark Apostle is a Daemon prince with the Defiler helmet-like mask, wings from a toy from the movie "Alien", and his Crozius is a WHFB skeleton spear pole, with two round shields cut in half, placed opposite each other one the spear pole, and three spear spikes were put on each shield-half. He looks very cool, if i do say so myself!
sounds awsome, do you have a picture by chance?
 guess not?
Wait a second, if you're playing black legion you can't have Dark Apostles.Originally Posted by Zveroboy
