Hello, I am new to LO and I am thinking of resurrecting a TS army; but I have a few questions after browsing around here and due to the vagueness of the CSM book.
Firstly, I had an ingenius idea of putting heavy bolters and lascannons on my TS squad (on a list not on any models). I believe it is legal but no-one else seems to think you can and I ask why not? All it says in rubric sign is that they count as stationary when firing so you should be allowed hvy weapons in theory and it will be so much better for increased firepower on tanks and low armour opponents than a predator as it is cheaper and takes up troops rather than hvy support.
Secondly, in an a Tzeentch army, would undivided troops count as elites? Like it would the other way round, again because it costs less points than chosen.
Thirdly, where is the list for Ahriman's chosen, they sound interesting.
Lastly, it could be called unfluffy but could you have have a daemon prince in a TS army? If so I have the perfect model
Some of the questions may sound a little unorthodox for TS but I'm trying to give them an edge as when I used to play with them they had a bad success rate.
Welcome to LO! Hope you find your stay enjoyable.Originally Posted by omidYes, that is an ingenious idea. Unfortunately, your friends are correct in that it is illegal to do so. Page 59 of the Chaos Codex, second column, first paragraph under "Chaos Marines". Summarized, 1K Sons with the Rubric sign cannot upgrade their weaponry, with the sole exception of becoming Terminators.Originally Posted by omidWell, in a pure Tzeentch army (Thousand Sons Cult List), you can't have Undivided. Everything needs to have the Mark of Tzeentch, apart from Vehicles. So there is no other way around. You have either a pure Cult army (Tzeentch, Nurgle, etc), a specialist army (Iron Warriors, etc that cannot field marks) or a Black Legion army.Originally Posted by omidWhite Dwarf... ummm... 306? Practically all legions have Daemon Princes. The least fluffy I would figure would be Iron Warriors and Night Lords, but even those aren't unheard of.Originally Posted by omid
Did I get all those sastifactory enough? Let me know if you have other questions - everyone here to help and learn, after all.
Aha, that helps dreadfully (about the heavy weapons, chaos troops), looks like I have some re-evaluating to do, and looking at that paragraph about the bolters I have appeared to have found something that never seemed to be their before; terminators as troops! I need some serious re-evaluating to do.....
EDIT:The terminators are core right? And how would I do power weapons on terminators should I play WYSIWYG?

There are plenty of Terminator models that come with Power Weapons. Usually they're just fancy looking swords.
heh heh, sorry I'm not that much of a fan of reading, oh well. ^_^
Come to think of it, I should have payed more attention before posting my last post; it just gets complicated with 40K and WHFB and I couldn't remember what the terminators looked like. I think I'm gonna vonvert them from the new space marine ones except mail order the power weapons.
I'm gonna post a 1K list on the army list board I look forward to any pointers.
I converted my 1k sons termies out of grey knight models.
All i had to do was cut of the insignia and head swap with chaos termies.. They look perfect as they are the perfect size and they match the style of 1k sons.

*Planning Stages*Thousand Sons of Chaos, Melekh's Host - 2000 Pts
Ogre Kingdoms, Tribe Of The Blooded Gut - 3500 Pts
Khorne Daemonic Legion, The Hordes Of Blood - 2000 Pts
Nurgle Possesed Ravenwing Army, The Rottenwing - 2000 Pts
That sound like an extremely nice idea, would it be plausible to swap the heads with regular 1K sons heads? I think it would look good and it is an excellent idea.
For a pair of lightning claws dude, I was thinking of purchasing the SM commander box set and using the chaos marine claw on the other, if the chaos claw goes on the right that is...
Wow! Those are sweet! How did you manage the head on the terminator as the GK head is moulded onto the body? My converting skills are yet to increase but they are getting better.
I think using Tomb king parts is a sort of thing you could do with 1K sons as they both have an egyption-y feel about them, but I won't use the Ushabti swords as I want to keep cost to a minimum.
Sweet, those look like the terminators i have been wanting too make... but due to lack of funds I have notOriginally Posted by ArchonAstaroth
Very nice, I have always like the DH termies and they look very TS... I dont really like the Chaos termies, they are too small and look like hat racks ^_^
Now that I see how nice they are, I want to make them even more.... If only i can find a job
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
