    Death Guard Elites

I've been curious about the elite choices for a Death Guard army. Really there only seem to be 2, Possesed and Chosen. So my question is, which would complement a DG army better? I can see where T5 terminators would be handy assault troops, but I can also see possesed augmented some CC weaknesses. I was therefore wondering if anyone could shed some light on this matter for me.

Depends one thing really, whether your playing shootily or assault.

Possessed are obviously the best for assaulting, with Daemonic Talons there's not much they cant rip through.

But Death Guard termies fulfill a valuble roll shooting hordes when you give them Reaper Autocannons. And the T5+2 save makes them a nightmare for guardsmen with Lasguns.

What role did you have in mind for your elites?

I had hoped for a shooty army that would assault when in range. Yes I know I'm asking for the best of both worlds but I enjoy being tacticaly flexable.

Probably termies are your best bet. They are more expensive, but they get the Reaper for Shooting, and the +2 Save and Power Weapons in assault. Give your Aspiring Champion a 'hidden Plaguesword', it's better than the hidden Power Fist against MCs.

I'll just chime in to agree with the above comments.

Termis seem marginally useful in most other lists.

    In a 1500+ DG army, 6 w/ 2 RAC are the bee's knees.

Give your Aspiring Champion a 'hidden Plaguesword'.
Or consider a Typhus fig to represent the Champ.

Ty is the most characterful Nurgle mini out there, imo.

Arm him with a 'Plague Scythe' as suggested above.

Rot would be fun also, but he's getting pricey . . .

    Other personal preferences -

Model the Autocannon guys with Chainfists, if you can.

Have the squad guard your DZ for a turn or two.

By then, you should have the Homer in a sweet spot. ;- )

    Good luck, and have fun!
