Which legion do u think would be the most powerful. I think the black legion is because of abbadon.
My advice would be to not think of it in terms of powerful - everything gets taken out at some point. Go with what you like, whether it is the look of it, the style of play, etc. Learn how to take out whatever your opoonents use by simply playing games.
I LOATHE Black Legion personally, because I consider them just a catch-all for those who want to try to do the super army. You indicated a passion for Khorne in an earlier post, so why not stick with this? I am big on themes, so I would choose something with its own particular catch that makes it unique, such as Word Bearers with the daemon overdose and Dark Apostles. My main fix, however, is Death Guard, cos I like to convert and build my own figures and this gave me, in my opinion, the best opportunity for doing so with a CSM army (cue major rants from everyone who plays something else!)
Abaddon is tough, but we can all create a monster Lord if we want. I do not use the pre-written characters at all, so his relative power is of no concern to me. If I could not hit him with a bolter, I would try a multi-melta, etc.
Each army has its own strengthes and weaknesses.
"DICE FOR THE DICE GOD!"
And the almighty Dice God said to his followers "Thou shalt not speak ye words "anything but a one" For thou whoever'st speaketh this blasphemy will be cursed with thy rolls being of one".
Depends on time period.. But Abaddon clearly has some political savvy (why else would the others follow him on crusades?)
Back when they had the Planet Killer I definately wouldn't have messed with the black legion.
But in terms of actually fighting ability they're all pretty equal, just different.
Gamewise.. I've seen people build nasty Death Guard armies, nasty Emperor's Children armies (I'd like to think mine is nasty.. but it's recent performance suggests otherwise) and nasty Iron Warriors armies, and I've seen lists for really scary looking Word Bearer and Black Legion lists. It all depends on your preference.

Fluff wise... Tzeentch would be the strongest... they can see everything before it happens...
Now that just might be the Tzeentchyness in me speaking... but I mean really, no surprises for Tzeentch :p
Game-wise they are all equal, its just how you play them.
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
Fluff: Tzeentch, agreeing with Centum how do you beat the guy that knows what your going to do, realistically it makes sense.
Gaming: My own personal opinion is Word Bearers, although I love my Iron warriors, I feel that Word Bearers offer the most important thing possible: severe versatility. You want to try and shoot through a unit of ALL Chaos Marines... i've tried, and failed, oh yea then it dropped a Blood Thirster and unit of Blood Letters and it really got ugly very quickly. Ironically, it was one of my most enjoyable games ever. Try playing a Word Bearer player who is tactically sound, and he'll devise a list that makes you shake your dice at him!
Opinion on Black Legion: i'm just adding this because i've always wanted to sound off against them. Although i understand the need for them, I mainly see them as the GW way to make you literally buy everything... because you can field everything as an option. Fluff wise they are important, and are necessary. However, every Black Legion player I know grows into another form of a chaos army.. Khorne, Nurgle, etc. This way you get interested in the Chaos world, and can easily convince yourself to start another chaos army... why... because you've already got the core troops! Genius i say, genius on GW's part....
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
um, I should hope they would make versatile CSM army, considering regular Space Marine all that and more. They should special weapons, LONG-range weapons for Chaos. Regular Marines have to much advantage in range.
This is just me, but I like the Night Lords from not only the fluff that they bring, but also the fact that they are the closest thing to the Blood Angels in the fact that they can have up to six (assault squads) with the bonus of having characters that can shake off Lascannon shots as if they were from the flashlight ("HAH! You call that a lascannon, felt like a panda's punch!!!!!") The quote of my Night Lord's Commander. Also, who doesn't like going through through assault with IG while playing Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold?
I'll be damned before the soldiers of the Emperor are just left to rot!
Last words of Colonel Densit from the Rahaxin 19th
"DISS NOT THE EMPEROR'S POINTED STICK, HERETIC!"
If it doesn't work with the Emperor. Then it's been officially Karmooned!!!
BEWARE THE POWER OF THE LIGHT-BRIGHT!
Hmm interesting, anyway here is another question. Wich thread made by Zak had a point ?
