I have the ruklebook, but I don't know which missions are fun. My small group that a play with (2 people, really) and I are getting tired of just killing each other down to the last man. Are there any fun games invovling taking a table quarter or something of that nature that can be played at about the 750 point level? All help would be greatly appreciated. Also, when counting if a squad is at 1/2 str., do u round fractions up or down. for instance, is my 7 man plague marine squad at 1/2 str. at 4 men or 3 men? thanks guys
I think that bunker assault is a good game as it involves caturing something and as for your other question if its at 4 men its not at half strength but if its at 3 it is under so it gets the apropriate modifier (if thats why you want to know)
take and hold missions are fun
objective missions are fun
scenarios you make up are fun, heck me and my group play more of our own scenarios and campaigns then we do the standard missions out of the rule book.
escort missions thru a city full of bad guys are cool.
if you need help just look thru books on old military campaigns and those are ready made scenarios.
Favorite scenario I every played was traitor individuals and traitor units. Individuals is where you and your opponent have to switch 1 figure to the others army from your elite slots, its not a big deal in most situations because its only 1 figure. Traitor squads is where you and your opponent switch a whole squad.... played them at Games day (individuals) and a Rogue Trader (squad)
At games day I gave up a Howling Banshee for opponents Storm Trooper (the storm trooper ended up sniping the banshee)
At the RT I gave up 2 Obliterators for a Vindicare assassin.
Bonus point are scored for killing the traitor.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
i forgot to put this in my last post.
killteam is easily the best game type with the ability to use units differently and it is so adaptable, as a bonus White dwarf has added nemisises make better challenges for experienced players.
Ahh nothing beats the look of an opponent after a well thought out kill team beats his 12+ brute squads and boss.
(he he he this is what my one looked like  )
Yes, I agree that kill team is one of the best game types: it is easy to customise to suit your own needs, it doesn't take very long, it doesnt need both players to have huge full- built and painted armies, and it doesn't need much space. It also can involve as much tactics and skill as you want it to.
