what the heck do you guys use for possesed models? I see that the CSM box comes w/ mutation sprue, but they're don't seem to be enough for a whole squad. Did you find something else, or just combine mutation sprues from several boxes? I am considering taking 7 of them in a rhino to be a second wave for my death guard.
Also, completly off my original topic, but what is a good point value for the (1) objective in an objective taking game. The game is played with 750 point armies on a 4by4 table. thanks a lot
Well for my Possessed, I took my Normal CSM, and cut their hands off, then replaced their hands with just spikes, using green stuff to mutate them to have D. Talons. Its very simple, and doesnt look to shabby. I also used some of the Claw/Metal Blade things, from the Oblieterator Blister for some of them. I like those the best. I'm assuming that you want D. Talons, If not, Then it would help us if you stated what kind of Possesed you are trying to model.
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
you were correct, I did mean D. talon possesed.. sorry I thought that had already been included in their somewhere
im planing to do a squad of posessed tzeench. I'm toying with the idea on a box on normal CSMs and buy enough TS heads for the unit and pose them all running with green stuffed D. Talons. Ive roughly done up a guy (sans head) looks awsome.
what legion do you plane to make them for?
1500pts GK - WIP
2000pts Skaven 0/4/0 I'll get there enventually
2000pts Khorn 20/4/2 - Retired

Hey,Are there any Tyranid players in your group?Originally Posted by kellster1
Nid players always seem to have lots of left-over plastic scythey bits.
Scythe-hands would look Daemonic enough to satisfy WYSIWYG, imo.
And unused plastic bits are usually quite affordable . . . ;- )
For my possessed plague marines, I used 1 "5 plague marines old edition box", I removed the knife from most of thos guys, I instead add some talons (they have daemonic talons). The other arm (with the gun) has been removed and replaced with regular marines arms, and some green stuff and more spikes. Finaly, I cut out the fingers froms the biggest hand in the mutation sprue and I used those on the bellies of 3 models as if spikes were bursting out of their body. They are realy nice and viscious.

The 'cure all' for modeling problems is green stuff. It allows you to mold your models any way you choose. Experiment a little bit with it, until you feel comfortable w/ it.
Here's a good example of green stuff modeling that really shows off the artist's ability to make whatever he wants: http://i14.ebayimg.com/03/i/05/01/65/74_12_sb.JPG
I haven't started my chaos army yet (I'm gonna play Thousand Sons but I just finished my Tyranids and I'm working on my Space Marines now) but when my friend started chaos a few months ago, I gleefully set to work converting his Possessed for him. We don't play with anyone who is steadfast about correct modelling (Though we do try and be as exact as our limited budgets allow) so I grabbed anything suitably daemonic and set to work.
If you're not overly concerned with proper representation of your daemonic mutations, go ahead and go nuts. Otherwise model the right mutations, then let your imagination take over to make the traitor look suitably horrible. I gave one Possessed (the Aspiring Champion I believe) a massive scything talon from the 3rd edition Hive Tyrant. I just cut the ball off the end to make it lie flat on his shoulder. Another Possessed had chopped up plastic Tyranid flesh hooks sticking out from every joint in his armour and one of his eye sockets. Yet another had 3 arms on one side and 3 legs. The third leg came from a brother Posessed whose leg I replaced with an extra 4th edition Lictor leg (the blister I bought came with no head and 3 legs ). I also chopped the crap out of a Khorne Berserker head and stuck it on one guy's back, then another guy had a Space Marine head coming out of a hole I hollowed out in his thigh. I did alot more but they came out looking pretty sweet, if i do say so myself. Once painted they should be nightmarish.
So basically, get any bitz you can find to make them your ideal daemons.
