I've been working on a chaos armylist. My chaos sorcerer lord has 55 points on demonic gifts, and I might add more. now, the codex states that any lord with 50 points or more of demonic gifts CAN be claimed as a deamon prince and should be modeled that way. but I don't want to field a deamon prince, I want to field a sorcerer lord.
do I have a choice in which model I field? or do I have to field a deamon prince cause I have 55 points of deamonic gifts?
All you have to do is call him a sorceror lord. 'True' Deamon Princes have deamonic stature. It doesn't reall matter IMO.
By day he fought with sword and shield.....
By night he fought with pen and parchment.....
He was....The Warrior Poet.......
Fear the ANZAC Clan!!!!!
ORDER OF THE SHADOWY FLAME!!!
Do you have uber micro...????
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
WYSIWIG states that you should model any of those visible daemonic gifts, so, in order to qualify as a daemon prince, a model should look a bit wierd.
Exactly what daemonic gifts have you taken? Unless you've taken daemonic stature, you don't have to model the guy as being huge.
Depends how you want to play your army...Daemon Princes are more heavy hitting close combat while sorcerors are for troop support
"Kill a thousand men, and they will hate you. Kill a million men, and they will queue to face you. But kill a single man, and they will see monsters and devils in every shadow. Kill a dozen men, and they will scream and wail in the night."

You should model it to look more surnatural than a normal space marine chaplain. Add some weird color :x and some mutations and may be an extra mouth or something like this and he should look good.Originally Posted by Shas'O RenoSaurus
If you are using daemonic talons, don't model you lord with a sword, that's all.

My sorcerer lord has deamonic flight and deamonic rune, which comes to 55 points. I might add more, but I'm not sure. besides, I need to get the new codex first. mine is from 2002:ninja:
anyway, I wanted to make an army with almost all units deamonic flight OR disc of tzeentch. Then I'll convert them with the wings of Dark Eldar scourges or the flying base of Dark Eldar Hellions.
Not sure about the Hellions though
There hasn't been a new CSM codex in a while.... Are you still using the codex from back before lords with over 50pts of daemonic gifts could become Daemon Princes?

This is what my codex says about chaos lords with 50 pts of deamonic gifts:
Chaos lord is the term used to describe a commander who is still largely a space marine;
the more deamonic gifts he has the further he has progressed towards being a deamon prince. As a guideline a chaos lord with more then 50 points of deamonic abilities can claim to be a deamon prince and should be modelled appopriatly.
