My problem is as follows. I need 12 BP & CCW weapon equiped models for my empeor's children army (12 being a sacred number), but I don't want to have to buy three CSM packs to get the parts. Is there any reason I cannot use zerker models (as they come in convienent packs of 12)? I will paint them appropriatley in emperor's chidlren colors, but does anyone think I will have problems at tournies and such?

Won't be a huge problem, but you are bound to lose player points... speaking from experience. I used to use Bezerker models in my IW army, just with the IW color scheme... i liked the running legs, and the squads were all CC. I would have players dock me army composition points, and had no idea why until one player pointed out why he did it, i found it a cheap and insulting way to lose tournaments (considering I typically went 3-0 in games.
My advice, use the Bezerker bodies with some head swaps, it will make your life much easier. If your made tons of CSM squads (like most of use) you probably have the heads. Other options are Fantasy Maruarder heads, or Warrior heads (carve the horns down) work wonderfully.
There's a nice CSM squad on the Warmongers page done up in Black Legion style mixing Maruarder pieces and CSM pieces. It looks kinda Slaanesh as the Maraurder bodies provide a bare chest/ Slaanesh look, it under the galleries

I'm doing something Similar, I bought a box of 'zerkers and I scraped off all the insignias, clipped off the headdresses and then green stuffed D. Talons.
I would suggest either doing what I did and clipping off the headdress thingies, or useing CSM heads like Mouse suggested. I would also scrape off the Khorne symbols, thats a dead give away. I doubt many people will even notice that they are 'zerkers. No one notices mine

all the above and use the EC specific heads on several models and get a couple of the EC specific shoulder pads. Between those two you'll have a nice mix of styles and it's unlikely people will think they're zerkers (you'll probably get compliments on your GS'd running legs at some point, I know I did with my thousand sons possessed who are a mixture of a box of CSM, 1kson hats and a couple shoulder pads with a mix of zerker and CSM legs (and one dark angel body))
If you tell people that they are normal marines, there shouldnt be a problem, regardless of the khorne symbols (even though they SHOULD be covered up or shaved off in some manner)

Order some heads, the use Zerker heads as trophies. There's always the Mutate sprue. COME on, its frickin easy guys, don't need a debate. Do it. DO it.
If you just planted some pink and black berserkers on the table, i would have a problem with this - so would tourney organisers as they are still berserkers, no matter what colour. They'd have to be VERY heavily converted - by which i mean new heads, no symbols of khorne, no excessive skulls and chains.
But just order some loyalist CCW sprues - and to be fair, to convert these zerkers enough to use, you'll spend more money than just buying standard CSM sprues. In your attempt to save money, you're wasting more on GS and labour time.
