    Question about being favoured.

I'm planning of playing Chaos marines with the mark of slaanesh. If a squad has 6 or a multiple in it I'm "favoured" but it doesn't say what that means. If I played Emperor's Children and I'm "favoured" I get a free aspiring champion or summoning benefits. So if I'm playing just normal chaos with the slaanesh mark, being favoured does nothing for me?

yes you do, you only have to use Slaanesh mark.
but. there aren't many non-Legions out there, so using Emperor's Children might be wise.

Err I don't understand your answer can you rephrase it?

The only reason I don't want to play as Emperor's Children is because I wanted to include a squad of raptors and an obliterator or two, but I may just have to cut my losses I guess.

That's pretty much the gist of it. Being favoured does nothing for non-cult armies. It's designed as a reward for having an entire army devoted to a singular Chaos Power.

If the Black Legion and all the DIY chapters had the same benefits, there'd not be much point of playing a cult army, is there?

What Calcuin said was much along the rules as what I tried to say.
So here is a refrased version:
You do not benefit from having the "chosen" number.
And since there are Legions out there, and not alot of just Chaos armies (like Space Marines) it might be nicer to just play a Legion, like Emperor's Children so you DO benefit from it and it is fluffy without spending time on making it fluffy

I hope that was refrased enough.
Caffeine is spilling my way of writing things down the same as the bellies of Nurgle-cultists.
And I'm not even sure if that was clear enough!

    Hmm.
Why can't an EC army use oblitorators (there goes my heavies idea).
The army I was given all appear to have the mark of slaanesh on them.
It's only small about 500 or so points but It's a stating point for my army

Deamonettes appear to be a good idea, I'm looking REALLY hard at bikers, Rhinos seem to be a wise investment as well, aiming at maybe a 1000 points at this stage then build from that again.

What you should do is to have your general bear the mark of Slaanesh so your marked troops "keeps in place" and make use of all them other units as well.
OK, you'll lose the benefit from the sacred number but the effects of this will be but a few more points.

EDIT: Oh, and re-read the codex a few times it's really worth it. Take some extra time on the pages dealing with the marks and Daemons (12-13 +3, they could be "tricky" to grasp.

    Thnx Andusciassus
I've read the Chaos Codex about 3 times now, (plus an older version which has some good pics of units which helped me figure out which figure was my lord)
Starting to put everything together, with some excellent articles and advice from the different ppl on this site.
