Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, here is my bit (for now), feel free to add and expand.
LIVE WITH IT:
Thousand sons are expensive, live with it, if you don't like it, change to a different army!
Yes, Tzeentchian chosen are way expensive, so unless you are really sneeky, in for the hell of it, having a "what if..." game, etc. don't take them (especially if they are termies!).
The only form of anti-tank is Bolt of Change, any your tanks, unless you are facing a "hard nut to crack", your AC shouldn't have it, I'm not saying not take it, just use caution.
Never (unless for the reason in chosen entry) take a pred. destructor, you bolters kill the enemy just fine. Use heavy support to kill the opponents vehicles, then, when they are dead, his Wraith Lords/Tyrants/carnifexes/necrons of any kind/anything that tzeentch deems threatening to his grand design.
Army specific tactics: (against of course)
Use either LOTS of doombolts (flamers some to mind...) or Bolt of Changes.
Make sure that you take at least one lascannon (please:cry: ) and battle cannon wouldn't hurt *cough*defiler*cough*.
Get a lot of basic troops, its just darn hard to kill nine guys, What! they have two wounds each! Nooooooooo! lol
Bolt of change is a must, so are pred. anihhalator, oh and a defiler is MUST to the greatest exstent (think what its like to make entire squads of necrons die w/ no WWB roles!?! Priceless.
Remeber, the longest range weapon that necrons have is 36", use this to your advantage.
Beware of veil of darkness, a squad of pariah teleporting behind you HQ is a VERY BAD THING!!!!!!
a pred. anhhialator to take care of those pesky tanks.
A squad of flamers would make those storm troopers disappear real quick (or anything else for that matter).
BEWARE OF ORDINANCE! if they be a targetin' you better be a prayin'! A couple of lost squads in one turn would really dampen your day. .
Take lots of thousand sons, you can't imagine the havoc you can cause when their precious star cannons don't instant kill you, HA!
You ussually don't need alot on the heavy support area, cuz 1)their best armour is 12
and 2)one word...Bright Lances!
you defenetly have to worry about Wraith lords/guard, if they are a risk, throw in a couple of bolt of changes, (in this case, a pred. destructor w/sponson lascannons would be useful, or w/ just HB to go gardian hunting).
Don't play the hunches of "oh, ya, BS3 you won't hit be with that D-cannon", cuz if you do, and they do hit, you could be lookin' at a loss of up too 200 pts depending on what he/she it targeting, D-cannons are a top prioroty, along with avatars and anything with the word "Wraith" in it.
If you really feel ike it, try and out psyker them, it would be funny, but DON'T exspect it to work easy-peasy, they have been around for millons of years more than you, exspect the un exspected.
thats all for now, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed (hay that sounds like a song, anyone seen jaws:tongue: ) , I'll add more latter, unless you guys right what I was going to right before I do. Good night Zzzzzzzzzz
Stop me if you think you've heard this one before but we allready have a Thousand Sons Tctica, take a look here : http://www.librarium-online.com/arti...howarticle=103
MEAT IS MURDER
While more input is always good, as pointed out, there is already a very well written Thousand Sons tactica. Quite frankly, this one here isn't so good, and has quite a few nonsensical things in it.I agree - this would be a very bad thing. Luckily for us, it can't happen.Originally Posted by InquisitorLordReiss
